As for hitting a deer or deers head on I think that is insane. We have had several fatalities in our area where the deer has actually come thru the windshield and the inpact has killed the driver. Animals shorter than bumper heigth maybe?
I still prefer to take my chances hitting the deer head on. Much better chance at survival then hitting a tree head on doing 65 MPH.

The country road near me is curvy and dangerous. The speed limit is 65 MPH. I dodge deer almost every day. I will slow down and swirve a bit if it is safe... but if all else fails I will smack them head on. There is no way I am going off the road and risking my life for a dumb animal.

It can be a crap shoot either way. You must use your best judgement and reaction based on each specific situation. I agree a human life is worth much more than an animal but a direct hit can sometimes be just as dangerous to the driver as avoiding the strike.

I am def considering another Crossfire, might even go the SRT-6 route this time, however I must add that I am also throwing around the idea of a BMW 330ci, Z4, and Boxster.....This will mostly depend on how much I receive from insurance and what the prices are. I actually haven't ever drove any of the cars I just mentioned either. This is my first major accident so this is an entirely new experience for me.
