Default Problem after replacing pads and rotors

1. I hear a rubbing sound when i apply the brake to come to a stop. I can re-create that sound if i slightly move forward and quickly apply the breaks.

2. The sound is less audible the more i have to stop but the first time i drive the car it is very noticeable

3. I hear a mechanical sound when i come to a complete stop to park. I put the car in park lift my foot off the brake and i hear the sound from the rear brakes as though something is disengaging then i lift up the emergency brake.

The car seems to stop just fine. It does not wobble as it did before i replace the F/B rotors and pads.

Question. did i do something wrong when i installed. Do i need a brake adjustment?

any support as always would be greatly appreciated. As always i do come here for advice before taking my car to she shop. This site gives me a second set of eyes before i take to the dealer. Thanks again

When you had the rear rotors off, how did the parking brake shoes look? Possibly one lining came loose from the shoe and is just bouncing around inside. I have found this to be true on many other models of cars that use this type of parking brake system.

He did the fronts.
Maybe he did both? Guess so.

The post isn't real clear but he did mention the noise was from the rear. Just a guess to try help out.

I guess he did both front and back but unless the calipers are not free enough to slide properly I cannot make any other suggestion.
I had a e-brake lining come loose once and the wheel locked up solid, I wondered what the heck had happened. The car would go backward but not forward as the lining wedged under the shoe in that direction. Safest e-brake I ever did see.

sorry had to step away.

Yes I did both front and rears, rotors and pads.Since it was my first time. I just installed everything the exact same way following. There is two things happening. When I'm driving and just before a complete stop i hear the rub type sound from the front. I can make this sound occur again if i move forward and quickly stop the car. Sort of like testing your brakes slightly moving forward and stopping etc.

The second thing is when i come to a complete stop in my driveway put the car in park take my foot off the brake i hear the rear brakes release. Sorry about the confusion hope this explains it better

The funny things is the noise is less noticeable as i continue to drive and stop. Its seems the pads or rotor have heated. But the rear noise always occurs when i park the car as i explained above.

Thanks for all the responses.

I'd jack up the car and look at the operation of the calipers when someone else pushed the brake pedal.
See if all is well, and that those parts that are meant to move are moving freely and what is supposed to be solid is in fact solid.
Is it possible you have kinked the brake line somehow?

This is probably unthinkable, but not impossible.

The rear brakes on the Crossfire remind me of a commercial/industrial piece of equipment - very easy and quick to get a new set of pads installed with minimal tools and very little down time.

If in a hurry and not paying close attention, it seems possible that the rear pads on the Crossfire can be put in wrong. Meaning the metal backing of the pad installed against the rotor. I have seen this happen on a yard mule (TUG). Stopped fine, just noisey. After several complaints of noisey brakes, I found one inboard pad installed incorrectly. Since it used a 1.5" solid thick rotor, all damage to the rotor was machined. You may want to take the rear wheel off in question and just double check the installation.

James
