See? Here are his two cars, sitting side by side! Notice that BOTH cars have valid tags... I just wonder how he's gonna bring them BOTH to the Dragon this fall.

C'mon, Kim. You have been so wise in your PM's to me - how can YOU believe such drivel?

Taken later at the entrance to the Dragon (TN side)

I can't imagine life after my Roadster. I already plan to drive her to, like, 150,000 or more miles.
And then, find another XF (coupe or roadster), some garage queen with 50,000 miles on it - and keep driving a Crossfire.
It's a plan.... but plans are nothign more than plans.

It is a common car and looks like everything else whether it is an AMG or not. Give me a Lotus or Crossfire any day of the week. Nobody knows what it is because it is less common... then you can blow their pants off and make them wonder. When an AMG pulls up next to you everyone knows you will get beat so there is no "what The F was that" reaction after an **** whipping.

I really considered getting the Lotus. I loved how when I sat in it it felt special. From the gymnastic entrance/exit to the sequence required to start it up it was unique. Problem was I put my MX-5 up for sale and had to drive the SRT for a month. I fell in love with the way the car sealed itself up, but I stll wanted an open roof and a 4th crossfire was just out of the question. Steve mentioned the R171 knowing that it had a better suspension for the way I drive. Plus I'm a huge McLaren Mercedes fan (go Lewis). So I had my option to buy a 5.4L rare SLK that had nav, 6 disc cd changer, and hands free telephone control, or a very beautiful Celica GT with sub par build quality all in the name of British Engineering. Don't get me wrong the Lotus is a beautiful car, and it handles and feels like a race car, but it's not suitable for daily driving. Deep down I believe I knew that.
Maybe when I'm ready for a second fun car :-)
Nick, I think you made a wise choice. My concern in reguards to the Lotus whould be the location of a dealership for routine service, and the limited options for the above. Lets face it, Lotus has not been known for its trouble free month after month use. I have never owned one. I do know a Mechanic who did and said it was in the shop all the time for service, and he purchased it new. The service cost after warranty would also keep me away. Once again very happy for you. Got to run and go out into the garage and throw more dirt on my Crossfire...........I HATE YOU NICK
look at the pic of nick running the dragon in the 55. the car fits him perfect. the seating the things only a techie would know how to use, the car has nick written all over it. and most importantly you can wear any kind of shoes and still be able to drive it!
it is very true when i go to car shows with my 32 and the other guys =bring the xfires they get all the attention. i just stand by and revel in the knowledge that mine was built first has the 3 letter logos that make me feel very special and that the car runs like a bat out of... all in all i think a win win for everyone !

While the Lotus would have been quite an adventure I agree with John, John and Steve. You made the best choice. The car looks great on the Dragon and the ride getting there had to be at least a thousand times better than in a Lotus. V-8 power and tq out of the turns ( not to mention the music from the exhaust) 7 speed tranny to play formula 1 with, bet the grin just keeps getting bigger and the Lotus is already a distant memory. Gotta see that car soon.
