Default Sorry to see Christine go, But, it had to go.

She was the devil. After the 4th time being stranded on the side of the road, that was enough. The car would just DIE while I was driving, just shut herself down. After a 1/2 hour or so, it would start back up but would sometimes shut herself down again. Or, sometimes it would go a few weeks without any incedent. Of course, when it was in the shop, they found nothing wrong. It was almost felt like the security system is failing and the car just locked up. It has been a great 4 years with Christine (that is what my girlfriend called her). I had more people stopping me to ask me about the car than any Porshe I could have owned. Thanks for all the help over the years.

You should have asked about the problem on here if you were having a recurring problem. From what you briefly mentioned, it sounds like it could be a faulty solder on the relay control module. Could have been fixed for free, and got lots of care free driving out of her.

DOHHHH.........did you trade her or sell her privately?? I live 20 minutes from Creemore and cruise through there all the time in my SRT6. If not the relay control module as suggested above it may have been the Crankshaft Position Sensor. Either way I could have fixed them both.......I've been looking for a Blaze red coupe for my Princess.

Yeah, i thought about the CPS as well, but since he did not mention it throwing a code, and I would assume when he had it in the shop they would have checked for any codes. At any rate, I hope he did not take a bath on the price due to the undiagnosed condition. BTW, a CPS would have cost in the range of $40 to fix.

Maybe you can at least pass this info on to whom ever purchased it and save them some headaches. Here is a link to the RCM fix. https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...-no-start.html

Pass this on too. Sounds like your problem or the above mentioned.

Without this forum, many of us would be lost. If I had to rely on dealers, given my experience with most of them (especially Chrysler), I'd likely not own a car............

With that said, I'm pretty good in and around a car and can do most things with proper tools. Diagnosiing problems in today's world is the hardest part. The problem with dealers is they don't want to spend the time to appropriately analyze the issues, under the right conditions and think most consumers are idiots anyway. They live and die off volume of work and overhead on parts, not on quality of work and consumer satisfaction.

Anyway, too bad you didn't prowl these halls regularly. You might have saved / avoided the ongoing headaches and still had a great car.

OHHHH MANNNNN!
An easy fix! And a cheap fix!
Can you still get the car back or is it gone for good? You really should have posted the problem on here or searched the forum... you would have found the answer.

I personally have not had this problem yet after 6 years of ownership with 4 of those years as a daily driver. But I will know how to fix when the problem surfaces. This is another one of those typical problems with our cars... it is not a matter of "IF" it is a matter of "WHEN". Just like the headliner falling!

His first mistake was going to a dealership. They don't know anything about our cars.

Here it is : http://www.autotrader.ca/a/Chrysler/...0211122246461/

Has the Carbon Fibre dash, debadged, magnaflow exhaust, non-stock stereo.

I could have got a great deal as he obviously did not do too well on the trade from the dealer if their only asking $9999.00

Wow cool!
That ad led me to these two articles that I've never seen before.

Test Drive: 2004 Chrysler Crossfire - Autos.ca

First Drive: 2004 Chrysler Crossfire - Autos.ca

Ya, and no doubt it has not been fixed. It does however look like he did take car of the car.

I bet someone could go to the dealership, and let them know that they are aware of the stalling issue with this car, and negotiate the price down to $8K. Let them know that you are willing to take the risk of trying to figure out how to repair the problem. wink wink

Raised it $1,000. It probably died during a test drive and they've spent another grand to get it running.

Toyota fixed what Chrysler couldn't.
