Possible weight reduction from wall. Opinions?
Hi all, I wanted to know what was in the wall brace behind the seats above the 2 subs. Im thinking that I might be able to drill some decent sized holes (approprietly placed) and still keep strength while losing a few pounds. It will also help the subs breathe a little bit better I believe, being that they are placed backwards. I understand this wont relieve much weight in the car overall but as far as I can tell if nothing is in there it wont cause harm in which case I would only benefit
and it wouldnt cost anything but maybe an hour of boredom. Im open to all opinions. Thanks,
Josh

Wow.. I had no idea the gas tank was right there. Thanks for the pic.

Well, so much for shortening that wall (or moving it, reshaping, etc). I was hoping to make access to the trunk easier and to give more room to recline the seats. lol
Hmmmm...new plan of attack. What about moving tank to area where a usual car has a spare, lol, and removing wall? Maybe even changing to a different tank setup if needed. I want that wall out! haha
Looks like the wall is structural anyway, so I guess I had better leave it be. As far as Pinto, many cars have tanks towards the rear of the car. Its all in how you protect them and the type of tank you have. A good remote cell and a little fab work on the pocket and good to go. Unless I wanted to redo the structural aspect of the car too?? lol JK
I was literally just saying the same thing to my co-worker lol.
