If money was not an issue you would have a TVR? I know they're hand made and all, but they're not all that expensive to throw the "all the money in the world card"

that was more so there wasn't any limits for anyone. The looks of the TVR just catch me and the performance isn't shameful. Nothing about a veyron excites me other than a quad boosted w16 for a power plant.

I empathize with you a bit.

Perhaps my car of choice would be the Spyker C8 Laviolette...

Not the fastest thing on four wheels by any means, but the V-8 note is sonorous and the interiors are simply over the top. To date, I have never seen one in person. I have, on the other hand, seen pretty much everything made by the Italians and the Germans, and while their cars are all gorgeous and fast, they don't move me like the Spyker does. Plus, you can order your Spyker tailor-made in any color configuration you desire.

The problem with the TVR is, especially that model, that it's built by the Brits. It should rattle itself to bits by the end of the warranty.

Now they're made by Russians so I wouldn't expect anything less than a tank from their next model line up.

Editted for Clarity.

BTW I'd have the Lotus Type 125

No it's not street legal, but it would be one hell of a track car.

I just watched basic instinct 2 last night with the "wife" and i 2 share a love for this cars fit and finish and it exhaust its so rough yet so refined. I have stood 3ft away from a Spyker at a pittsburgh car show and it was epic I have never laid eyes on a TVR and probably never will in the US at least.

Have you paid much attention to new lotus line up? I have loved lotus since i saw my first elise and got to ride in my uncles exige a fantastic drivers car. I just hope with lotus expanding its foot print they don't loose the roots they are known for. I really want to see the top gear boys get ahold of the evora! The real top gear guys not them queers on the history channel!

I don't like the new line up, and I almost bought an 05 Elise instead of my 55. The new ones just aren't radical enough for me

This car was the Rolls Royce, the Bently, the Maybach of its day! I have been to about 25 cars shows every year for the past 17 years that I remember and nothing draws my attention more than the 1950 to 68 Cadillacs. The attention to detail the use of chrome and the dramatic light refraction's and reflections from the hard body lines. To this day I believe Cadillac in the 50s and 60s had some of the wildest looking production cars for the time. Not at all the Cadillac we have known for the past 30 years!

You do have a point the evora isn't near as radical as the exige is but the evora wasn't designed to replace the elise or the exige its another level of lotus. I would like to see lotus stand up and walk away from the toyota engines and build something more fitting!

What a guy given the chance to pick from 10 million different cars you stick to your guns with the SRT6. The crossfire is a beautiful car and the fact that chrysler and MB went through the trouble to create it during the economic issues we faced is nothing short of a miracle. I will be hard pressed to ever sell mine an hope i never have to!

Cool Re: Your dream car?

I'm in agreement w/Arado but if we're talking dreaming here, I'd dream for the MB SLS AMG in Alubeam silver, with the 10 spoke wheels, braking package w/gold painted calipers, Designo red interior and aluminum trim.

The evora is running a toyota v6... Not sure about the elise... I cant see them sending a renault motor to the states thats why they put the toyota motor in them to begin with because toyota parts are available world wide and kept costs down.

My *ONLY* edit to that recipe would be to change the exterior color to Designo Mysticweiss (a gorgeous pearl white). Otherwise, a fine choice

The crossfire was not produced during hard economic times. The bulk of them were not even sold during hard economic times. 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 were some of the greatest times this country has ever seen. We were riding high and so was the car industry. The Crossfire was actually built and delivered during a time when cars were flying off the lots. The problem was nobody wanted a crossfire. Nobody knew what it was. They were to busy buying 350Z, Audi TT and Infinity G35. 2 seaters have always been hard to sell.

Those hard economic times you speak of started in 2007 and we are still in it. Same old story.... no progress to fix the issue in 4 years. Just lots of vacations and talk with no Action. But this is a seperate issue for the political forum
