Default Backup camera

Hi folks

Can a backup camera be installed on a Crossfire? Or does one have to have a nav system to do this? I mean, where would I view the rear area when I don't have a nav system? I am totally naive regarding this.

Thanks!

You can buy a aftermarket backup camera. The cheaper ones come with a wireless monitor that looks like a gps unit for $50-80 dollars. Then there are better ones that replace the rear view mirror with monitor built into the mirror they go for $100-$200. Here's some on ebay to give you a rough idea of what you can buy.http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...tm220880288337

There are also a few 1 DIN radios that have a small screen that will accomodate a backup camera, along with a host of slide out screen ones ( more $$$ ) that can have NAV and play DVD and a backup camera.
It's all up to how much you want to spend ....

( search crutchfield.com & sonicelectronix.com )

this one is $449 and has all the features you need :
Jensen VM9414 7" In-Dash GPS Navigation w/DVD/CD/MP3/WMA Receiver

NOTE: you will need an antenna adapter and a wiring adapter to install ANY after market head unit.

BIG NOTE !!! Whatever you decide to do, make sure you do the capacitor mod, search for the sticky on this forum, even if you keep the OEM radio.

Thank you, Corfire! I could live with that! I'll have to look into it. You said you got your's a few years ago. Do you remember the cost at that time?

I think it was $79. The cam is wireless, but you have to connect it to a backup light to power it.
