WSVN-TV - Authorities search for sexual battery suspect


SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police are searching for an employee at a South Florida middle school accused of engaging in sexual acts with a child.
The suspect, 29-year-old Paul Michael Mira, is the athletic director at Archimedean Middle School, a charter school near Southwest 72nd Street and 124th Avenue in Southwest Miami-Dade.
According to authorities, Mira used his position to engage in unlawful sexual conduct with a 12-year-old female student who attends the school.
The batteries occurred at various locations, Miami-Dade Police said, and the victim was raped at least three times in the past month and a half.
Mira has been charged with sexual battery on a child. Family fear he may kill himself instead of being arrested by police.
Miami-Dade Police Det. Roy Rutland said, "There's no question that this man's dangerous. He's proven that already, and now, he's at a point where he's making threats to kill himself."
The school has since suspended Mira from his job. "The complaint we received was on Thursday, and the next day, he was suspended," said George Kafkoulis, the president of Archimedean Academy. "Obviously, we are extremely disappointed, but we're going to reserve judgment."
Concerned parents sounded off on the allegations against Mira. One parent, Ivette Pinto, said she trusted the suspect. "I'm very upset, it's very disturbing," said Pinto.
No one answered the door at Mira's Southwest Miami-Dade home on Tuesday night. Mira's neighbors are disturbed about the sexual battery allegations. "It's the worst thing a person can do, especially in that position," said neighbor Larry Cohn, "but again, you are innocent until proven guilty."
According to police, Mira drives a white 2004 Chrysler Crossfire.

I dunno about rare, I've seen several in the Orlando area ... by the by mine is White and no I've not been in Miami lately.

Actually by the title I thought this was going to be about Chrysler naming this car "Crossfire" .. perhaps "Halfbreed" would have been more accurate.

 

Another sicko. What on earth pocesses these idiots to commit these crimes. He would probably best take care of the situation himself. In jail he will be history .

Graphite and metallic gray drivers are not sexual predators. Maybe a little kinky and open to try new positions, but definitely not into children or farm animals.

 

Alabaster...........not white.... well, anyway, there will be one for sale real soon, hopefully without blood stains on the seat....

 

Wow, I'm glad I don't live in Dade County, or drive a white 04 Crossfire.
