Mercedes v6 Engine - Who has got the highest Mileage from it?
Hi Guys
I know we have one of the most reliable engines available on the market - But how many miles is it good for... 150-200k?
Is there any crossfire out there with high mileage? If so... How are you finding it, do you have any mechanical problems or issues you can share.
The reason I ask this is there are loads of SLK's with 120k+ Miles and they seem to be fine!
I want to keep my X-Fire forever!!!!!

Someone posted about a srt the other day on ebay that had 198k miles on it
The M-112 has historically seen 500,000 miles (yes, half a million) with regular maintenance and care.
Quite simply one of the most bulletproof engines made recently...
As for the highest mileage Crossfire, I think high 100's is as high as any have gotten yet.

There was someone who posted about three times and then was gone, she said her SRT had 176,000 or 182,000 or something like that. She said the car had cost her only tires and oil changes.
I personally drove a base roadster abotu a year ago with 120,000 on it - the 6 speed shifted way better than ANY XF I have ever driven - these cars NEED some miles on them!
I suspect we ARE CERTAINLY driving 250,000 mile cars, maybe much more than that. Mine has about 63,000 on it now... I plan to have it for a LONG time... provided it doesn't get totalled like so many others.

I am looking at another 05 that has 198,000 on it.
Figuring a Monday through Friday week for 52 weeks, that is like 180 miles everyday since new! The car looks great, but have not done a close up inspection. I was considering it for a parts donor car for the long haul, but hate to do that to one also.

Thanks for the replies Guys, I have seen an SLK with 235,000 on its a 3.2! Slightly older than my 04 crossfire.
The highest I have seen on and XF was 164,000 here in the UK but it was an insurance write off repaired...Looked New just a couple of stone chips (Wouldnt touch it with a barge pole still)
I suppose the concept of this revolves around' if you are doing a lot of town driving or all motorway!
I have 73,000 on mine and drive on long straight roads a lot (Apart from when visiting the Family
) So fingers crossed It will be just a Tyre and Oil job for the rest of it's life

I'm looking at an 05 roadster with 178k on it. I'd say pretty much any modern day engine is capable of 300K miles or more if properly maintained. It's usually the other "stuff" that wears out that needs to be replaced. My 04 coupe only has 20K on it right now. It's not that I don't want to put the miles on it, it's that I don't want to have to drive it to work everyday on roads that surely can beat up a car. But I certainly hope to get 200k plus out of mine.
I personally know of one in my town with close to 300K miles and it's his daily driver all seasons.
He has a roadster also he uses just in summer. He drives his coupe to work in Wisconsin daily, and it looks and runs awesome.

My last 4 or 5 cars and trucks have ALL gotten over 250,000 miles before I sold or wrecked them. Just changed the oil. No major repairs. I almost always buy used. I just sold my 95 Caravan that had 150k on it when I bought it. I put 125000 on it and sold it for 5 bucks more than I paid for it. I made 800 bucks on my Grand Prix (2 insurance claims) about 265000k on the clock. My t-bird had well over 280k on the engine when it was totaled. I expect no less out of this car.
