Tail of the Dragon - June 24th
Hey All!!! Well the Tail of the Dragon + ECU upgrade went amazing!!! I've never experienced anything like it in my life!
I have tons of pictures and I'll post some of them on here... but the rest are on my site... the link will be below! BTW if you dont have the ECU chip your missing out BIG TIME!!!
Here goes...

So Me and by buddy Clint leave Michigan at around 10pm on Wed.... It takes us through Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia and then to North Carolina... We meet up with Rene at Upsolute around 9:45 - 10:00ish... takes about only 30 mins... in which we chat with Rene quite sometime while he programs the chip! VERY NICE GUY! More then helpful with everything! My car starts up fine! and we leave for the dragon
... A few Red Bulls later we are passing through South Carolina back to N.C and then into Tennessee... My pioneer DVD / NAV computer helped so much it was insane! Found everything perfect! ... we arrive at the dragon around 1:30 and we start the decent! First of all we notice the clouds are nearly touching where we are driving! it was beautiful and worked great for pictures!!!
Nice Over look!
I'm from Michigan... mountains are a big thing to me!!!
Now the Journey starts! We really approach the Dragon!
I think this is one of the best pictures! I'm definately going to have it framed! Plus there is a video of this turn also! ITS SWEET!!!

All the turns are blind corners... and those big *** heavy bikes love to cross the yellow... I see why there are so many accidents...

The Crouch Rocket bikes were amazing out here! Just FLYING through the turns and as long as they were experienced it looked really well done... but there were two of them in the ditch that day... younger guys that were just screwing around and lost control...

Another really nice look out area with the Crossfire in the front!

Another...

Amazing Bridge + Cliff picture!!! another picture that will be framed

Test round of holding the camera on the side! Came out really nice!

Clint does a great job filming this one...

AMAZING VIDEO OF THE TURNS!! you can really see it well and then he moves the camera to the top of the car!

I love this video
it looks like something from a tv ad!
The Crossfire handling amazing on this road! It rarely ever nicked off its path and I was able to go VERY fast around them without lossing any traction! and for fun I had to have the ESP OFF
So i could kick the back end out when I wanted to! ... Clint really took some amazing shots and videos of the turns! I hope everyone will take the time to check out the main site!!! There are tons of more pictures to see and videos to watch! so this was only a spoiler !
I had a great time! we actually did this trip in 25 hours... thats through 8 States... lots of construction... one Waffle House and a Cracker Barrel
and about 6 bottles of Red Bull energy drinks!... 0 sleep!
and 1607.1 Miles of driving!!!! IT WAS WORTH EVERY BIT OF IT!!! got to sleep around 2:00am on Friday morning... woke up at 9:00 am and picked up my Jeep!!
its a good weekend!!! LOL
Here's the link to the other pictures and things to enjoy! Also here's a link to the Tail of the Dragon site!!!

I've been thinking about the Tail of the Dragon ever since I first saw it posted on the forum...maybe my next vacation is going to be cross country!
Thanks so much for the pics and story...can tell you really had a great time...now you've even got me thinking about the Upsolute chip. I drive way fast as it is, and am afraid that chip would really lead to tickets, tho.

Diane!!! You dont even know... this car with the chip is something else completely !!! 1st and second are fun.. second goes so quick i miss shift the autostick all the time and get the lag-wait error lol... i have to get used to it still
3rd gear is a killer! this is what makes it feel so much more... you know that awesome feeling of 1 and 2.. that push.. well it stays now
for all of 3rd!!! 75 - 95 feels like 10 - 20 lol !
Lets just say this... my friends rx8 would take me after second gear.. of course its a rotary engine with ported system... fast in those high rpms... in 3rd gear ... I lost him
he was tailing behind... people say "is that even the same car" its that much of a performance increase in mine... and i just worked out my last few hundred on the Borla Exhaust so now i get some more to boost it up
im excited to be able to take XLR Cadi little POS car... thats all i want haha

Sure wish I coulda run the Dragon with ya though... US 211 west out of Sperryville VA is a very similar run, though not as long. I wish we coulda had a few folks with video cameras taping our 5 Crossfire "Skyline Cross-Up" run up that stretch! Being my first car like this, I wasn't pushing very hard, but now I'm wanting to go back and play...
lol without flexible goals life could be very boring.... plus the crossfire is in a range where just a little more hp can make it equal to many of the expensive european cars...
