Got myself a XF humidor for xmas ... but?
DSC02480.JPG
DSC02478.JPGI found a NIB crossfire Humidor on eBay last week. Listed by a seller who had just posted with a BUY IT NOW, and just did it. Probably was only on eBay for about 30 minutes before I stumbled on it. Seller never owned a Crossfire, but had been a cigar smoker for years. Unit was given to him by his daughters as a xmas present years back, but he never used it. The Prometheus lighter still has the plastic wrap and the iKar cutter is perfect. I bought it for $300. He shipped the unit to me Priority Mail and it arrived yesterday. WITH DAMAGE to the box and styrofoam insert. He never packed it correctly, nor had any insurance on it. The humidor itself was perfect, just the box bent, and styro broken. Pics above.
I contacted him immediately and he handled it like a gentleman. Credited my paypal account back with $150. So my net cost is $150.00. More than the $100 that some people would have paid, (according to the recent poll), but I'm a happy camper.
The box is usuable and the styro will be reglued the best I can, but I will be on the look-out for someone willing to part with a replacement box and the styro inserts. This will probably be harder to find than a humidor unit. LOL
Edit: just FYI ... I searched eBay for a Prometheus cigar lighter, and the average BUY IT NOW for one is about $50. (That's without the Crossfire engraving). The BIN price for the Xikar cutter in silver finish (identical), is an average of $50. When you combine these 2 items with the Crossfire Humidor box it seems like $200 to $300 is a bargain (maybe?) to have a limited supply collectable....... just sayin

The parcels are dumped from the backs of trucks onto concrete floors and they take a hammering.
A parcel containing this humidor should be at least 6" plus the dimensions of the humidor box in all directions.

Items like this have to be insulated inside another box and the whole package should not make a sound when shaken. Styrofoam peanuts are practically useless unless they are packed so tightly that they do not move.
