Around town, with plenty of stop light to stop light drags and plenty of spirited driving, I get 20 MPG. The only real highway trip I have taken with the car was when I drove it home from when I purchased it. I only had to stop for fuel once (~600 mile trip) and the leg that I tracked said I got 34 MPG out of it. I believe it, we went a bit over 300 miles on not quite 3/4 of a tank before stopping for fuel/rest. Made it the rest of the way home and still drove a week to work on the remaining gas in the tank.

I did a test years ago. No traffic with cruise control on about 70mph. I got 32 mpg driving 300 miles. Coming back with slow downs and speeding up to go around cars I got closer to 28 mpg. I just went looking through my paperwork last night and it said 29mpg on the highway. That was one of the Chrysler documents... I think it was the window sticker.

When you guys say 75% highway, is that actual mileage or time driving. I spend 90% of my time in the car driving city, but it accounts for 50% of my mileage.

My three year running average is 21.7 at 50% city miles, that is two weeks of a 10 mile commute and one 200 mile weekend highway trip.

High was 27.8 all highway for 1500 miles. Low was 17.6, a winter month of all city.

As I have said before, I am amazed by some of the very high MPG's reported here. Maybe they have those fuel line magnets or that vortex thingy. Maybe they changed tire sizes and have not adjusted for odometer error. Maybe they are amazing drivers. Maybe they don't log numbers long enough to get a real rating. Maybe they are from the UK and reporting miles per Imperial gallon. Maybe they are all Hyper-milers, even tried that for a while, not worth it.

Still amazes me that this is the only car, that for some, beats the EPA ratings on a daily basis.

My experience was by no means a hyper-mile experiment. I set the cruise at about 80 and let it do its thing. I made sure that when I filled it up before we left Seattle I filled until it clicked and then continued on to the nearest $.50 amount. I had the dude in Oregon do the same thing while I watched (can't even pump your own fuel in that crappy state). Thats about as consistent as necessary for my intents. I do the same thing when I fill up each and every time so I am consistent there. Tires are stock sized and I have GPS verified my speedo to within .5MPH (pretty darn accurate) at 75. My around town driving consists of frequent bursts of full throttle take-off along with light throttle cruising.
As far as i'm aware, no magnets, vortexes, anything modified on the drivetrain.

Rebecca's 2008 getting 24.1 in city, 26.8 highway. (idaho speed limit is 75 on freeways. (she goes a little faster than that, I think.

Kj's 2007 getting 23.1 in City and 25.8 Highway...yes i know I am going faster than 75, but it is fun.

I took a little drive this weekend out to PA for Easter and actually got 23.3mpg for the full tank.

I was quite impressed/shocked as I have never gotten that good of gas mileage for a full tank of gas before. I usually get somewhere around 20-21mpg on a full highway tank.

I have an 04 6 speed:
driving to the office and around town I average 26-28.

On long road trips we average 30-32.

Way better than the jeep haha not as even close to the prius or vespas.

I was wondering what is the average total miles you can go on a tank? And how far can you drive after the gas light comes on?

I just rolled into Fayetteville/Fort Bragg yesterday and was averaging 30.4 on the interstate. I had one burst of speed to 108 to catch a grey SRT on I64.

City driving I get about 275 miles before it reads real close to E. I usually end up putting a little over 14 gallons in it at that point, never more than 14.5 gallons, which means I probably have a bit more than a gallon left but I don't want to press it.

As I cannot seem to keep my foot out of the peddle around town, I get about 17-20 average. On the highway, I get 25-26.

From what I've been reading and my knowledge of engines, after exhaust set ups, cai and eurocharged tunes (a standard modded xf Imo..which is the most modding I would do) I know your mpgs should increase..Im thinking since not everyone who's posted their milage is running a complete stock car these variables must decrease your fuel consumption somehow resulting in better mpgs

I'm finding it hard to believe these can get anywhere near 30mpg while doing 70mph on the highway and commuting in traffic
My brother traded his g35 coupe which had more gallons then the xf (although it was a 3.5 litre engine compared to these 3.2s) he struggled to get past 24combined miles
I'm just wondering how all you guys can get these high fuel numbers on a stock car that has estimated 25highway 17 city miles

My sticker and my wife's sticker (2007/2008) both say we should be getting:

21 in the city and 28 on the highway. She does better than this mine is exactly what the sticker says untill I get to the 80-85 MPH mark, then I get about 26 MPG on the road. Maybe the Older Crossfires got worse?
