I love the noise when it hits 2500/3000 revs but Like the Porsche's I also like the grumble at lower revs

I am in Southampton! Where are you based? I am seeing more and more Xfires around our area! Cannot wait till the Hoy Unfreezes so I can give it a goodold wash!

I agree that at lower revs, it could sound better.

I took off the engine cover and placed a Spectre air filter right on the MAF - my Crossfire has a really impressive growl and a quicker throttle response...(I did this out of curiosity, not as a permanent mod.)

A quick Search in the 'Engine & Exhaust' section for 'Resonator' turned up this:

https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ns-please.html

Others have gone with a complete Muffler delete, where possible if emissions testing is not an issue.

Search that section on Muffler, Cat Back, and exhaust for all the gory details...

I am not trying to be rude, but I think your brain simply wants to believe it is faster because of the increase in noise. Here on the forum there are dyno results and it is proven that doing what you did will hurt performance. Putting an air element anywhere that it does not have access to fresh air is going to hurt performance because the factory unit sources air from outside the car, and now you are sucking it in from the terribly hot engine bay, especially back at the MAF. Also, an intake may make it feel like a quicker throttle response, but the only way to actually get a quicker throttle response is with a sprint booster in line with your acceleration pedal to modify the output voltages.

You should try a DIY approach like we did, where the air is still sourced from the grill where it is cool, where proven, dynoed gains are made. Much cheaper than other solutions but the results are there. There is a filter in each of the polished canisters...

Have you ever measured IAT's on that setup, John?

I believe Max datalogged those things with the original prototype, and numbers were nearly identicle to Needswings DCAI. My butt dyno tells me I am VERY satisfied with the lower temps and lots more power. I am hoping the new hood helps with cooling too

I do not datalog, overkill for an NA IMHO.
