The door plate on my 2005 is nothing like those shown, it doesn't have the build date or even the manufacture name. It does have tire pressures and weights. There is a ghost Chrysler emblem on it. One CTC member just recently traded her roadster in with around 200,000 miles on the clock.

Open the door and look on the door itself, not the car.

Thanks Mike, I've owned that car going 7 years and of all the times I'm in an out of the car and never noticed that plate. I wipe down the doors every time I wash the car. Anyway, I bought the car new November 2005. The manufacture date is 06/2004.

It would be nice if all the caring, loving owners ended up with 10 each (my garage can fit 3). But in reality as they age into 7-8 year old cars they are going to kids (dare I say punks) who are ricing them, murdering them, etc. They may never be worth a lot, but the few that are still original will be a pleasure drive and still have great looks at 20...30. Assuming we can still buy gasoline.

WOW, congrats you got one of the very early production XF. Serial number must be between 4X00030 to 50?
Color? Manual or Auto?

Just looking back on this thread it appears that early production was slow. We have 000038 which was built 01/06/03 forum members car. I have 000124 car for sale on Auto trader with a build date 04/24/03. Only 86 cars built in almost four months.
