Default Oldest Crossfire?

Anyone have any info on the early Crossfire builds? I ran across an 04 coupe, built in November of 2002, serial number 000022.

It has to be one of the oldest around, how many before it were used for testing and advertising and never sold?

My first post was wrong, it was built at 4pm on November 19th, 2002.

Yes, that is correct, 2002. I have a picture of the door plate to prove it!

Wow, that's ancient (for a Crossfire)

Might be worth contacting the Museum?

I hate to ask.
Is it a wrecked car?

Yes it is.

I looked up a series of about 45 vin numbers, and was surprised at the results. I got hits on two vins from 00 - 06, not in series either. Neither of those had any record history, zero records. Then I get a hit on this one, 24 records. Then between 22 and 45, only one more hit, and it again came back as zero records. All other vins came back as invalid.

Chrysler states the first crossfire came off assembly on Feb 3rd of 2003, and there was a big executive photo shoot.

What is this car with a 11/19/2002 build date, and why is it the only one showing up as a valid vin with records in the US from 00 - 45???

Could this have been the first Crossfire to hit the US? Possibly used for pre-production media shoots or testing?

Could I have stumbled onto the "The source"? Or what's left of it?

I have #22 as a Graphite with dark slate interior. Is that correct? Can you post photo of MDH label? According to the records was it initially shipped to Puerto Rico?

Also according to forum member 04silvercrossire he owns #28 with a built date of 1/6/2003

Here is my first look at the Crossfire. If only I would have asked what the VIN is. It was on a turntable. Never would have imagined I would own one, one day!

I have no idea where it was originally, since it is here in the US, I doubt it was shipped somewhere else first.

It is a Graphite, with dark slate interior.

Most that went on the show circuit were never sold to the public, most were crushed, and many were not even a complete vehicle. For example, I know a guy who bought one from Chrysler, it was a show vehicle, could not be licensed, when he got into it, it was a display shell. No dash harness for example, if it was not visible, it was not there. He was pissed to say the least.

MDH shows 111916.

I will get a copy of the picture to post.

I was watching a show on Speed TV late one night (after the Barrett Jackson Auction) about Carroll Shelby. They said his original 289 Cobra was valued at $7,000,000. (I don't know how they came up with that figure, but that's what they said).
Anyway, just imagine what the 1st Crossfire is worth.

Heck yes! .. I would love a cobra but I am quite happy that I paid next to nothing for such a great car that eventually will be worth alot of money (once people wake up and smell the coffee, but they can wait til I grab one or two more )

I predict within 5 years 98% of the XF's made/left will be owned by about 1000 people, each with 10 or more cars each! Well, I have 9 more to go and a little time!

All--

I have owned Vettes and other "fast" stuff. My 2004 Crossfire is my favorite by far. It is solid and has almost no road noise. I love to listen to that engine shift through all six gears around 3400 rpm! (Well, at least through the first three gears. I've never wound it up fast enough to hear it shift at that rpm in fourth and fifth! ) The door plate says mine was built 08/03. From what I have read on this forum, that makes it among the early vehicles.

The only work that has ever been done on it are oil changes and replacement of the wiper blades last month. It has less than 45k miles on it.
