Air bag code help... Why warranties on our cars are needed
Air bag code help... Why warranties on our cars are needed
57k miles on my 2005 and the airbag light goes on. My car is a garage queen now. I had a local mechanic clear the code but it keeps coming back. The first set of codes were an 03 and an 01. They cleared it but the 01 kept coming back. They told me that code means the control unit is faulty. Is this correct and if so what does this mean? Could the dealership charge me thousands of dollars for a new airbag unit or do you think a wire is messed up that just needs some attention. Anyone else have similar problems? Would i have any ground to complain to chrysler or would they just say "your out of luck". My warranty just ran out and I was thinking of renewing it anyway. But this is proof that warranties are needed.

If you can extend your warranty, do so. Your problem is that very few 07 and 08 models were built. Dash airbags and controller are unique to 07 and 08 only. Can't use 04 - 06. You will likely be forced to buy a new very expensive controller.

So what did Bentley tell you?

I hope this one is there. I want to laugh at these wheels in person. So far in attendance will be be John, Nick, Steve, BlackCrossfire07, Tim (MrMopar) and me. Who else is interested in meeting up at the Bentley Dealership? Hey, can someone let me in on which dealership so I don't end up in the wrong state?

Unfortunately you won't be able to find this at your local Bentley dealer, despite the fact Bentley copied the Crossfire's design and is a blatant ripoff.
