Default Tire low pressure sesors

I have two crossfires and have encountered the same problem in both. It seams when it rains very hard leaving standing water, if the water covers the tite valve, ( and thats easy in low profiles) it may short out the sensor and send a false signal to the instrament panel. If this does occur, you need to take to dealer to have computor reset. MAKE SURE THOUGH THAT YOU HAVE THE TIRES INSPECTED JUST IN CASE IT WASN"T A FALSE ALARM.

Water covering the valve! Don't park in puddles then! I know they are low profile but even in the UK it is hard to park with water that high.

I don't look for puddles to park in. In florida, we have tropical rains i6 months a year. Last week I parked in a parking lot that was dry, with the sun shining. When I returned 3 hours later, the lot was a lake. This is very common here.

Oh. Poor you. I wouldn't fancy driving in those conditions. Luckily / unluckily, Chrysler saw fit not to give the tyre pressure monitors to us UK owners :-(

What happens if you swap the wheels/tyres from one to the other. Does this not reset the computer?

You need a very small rubber sheath (no sexual pun intended) to cover your valves.

With all the washing of these cars reported on this forum, you would think that this would have happened to someone else.

The only way that water could get into the sensor is if the valve cap was off. Was that the case here? Water could not leak in anywhere else, or you would have an air leak, which means the tire would have to be flat before any water could get in.

how about bring a lite weight jack and "rotate" your wheels after you park. That way, the tire valves could be placed in the 12 o'clock position.

hmmm, interesting problem. I'll ask some DCX engineers about this...
