Default Silver accents on black models

I've noticed that some black Crossfires have silver accents around the windsheild and on the side and others are solid black. Why is this? Also, is there a way to put the silver accents on the side of the car if they aren't already there?

Every 2004 Crossfire have the silver trim from the factory.

Starting in 2005, Limited and SRT models have the silver trimmings. Base models do not.

Any of the items can be replaced or repainted any color you like.

Mine had silver around the windshield and I changed it.

Did you use a rattle can or paint booth?

I added chrome trimming with commercial peel and stick plastic chrome. easy on and off. No damage to car. Any car parts store sells it. Cost is low and it's fun to do. Gary

What are the vents behind the front wheels appropriately called? I'm about to buy a 2005 in black and I would like to change the side accents on those vents to silver, but not the windshield.

Something else to consider since you have no silver on the car, is that you can purchase chrome overlays for the strakes, windshield trim, & grille.

or ask someone with a Limited model if they want to trade... I've always been torn on the black vs silver trim on the black car

You have to have a good mix, but keep it simple...

Well they look great, our limited XF is also Mercedes Black, and if you dont mind, i would love to know the brand of the wheels to see if we can get them here in Australia, the only mods on our car are reverse sensors and I got the panel underneath the rear bumper and surrounding the exhaust tips painted silver. I also thought if I put 20's all round that I would get it lowered slightly.

If I were you, I would recommend lowering the car but staying away from 20s on the front. On my new car, I went with an 18/20 stagger and lowered it, not only does it drive and ride better because there is more tire up front, but it looks better as well IMO. The wheels were Giovanna Gianelle Cairo's in chrome and while they looked great, they were also a PAIN to keep clean

Good luck out there. Here is the new one with 18/20 stagger + lowering ~2"
