Default Recent requests to purchase Crossfires - seems weird to me ...

Remember this is only my gut check opinion......
It just seems weird to me that there has been 2 recent threads started by newbie posters, that state they have been searching and searching for Crossfires. Each one is ready to travel and pay with $100 bills. One of the newbies forum name, even indicates this. Don't they realize that in their "searching and searching?", they only need to go to the "cars for sale" threads and contact people. My gut feeling is that they may only be trolls looking to "stir the pot". Just my opinion ......

...I actually got some troll mail from my dealer in my mail box yesterday...wanting to buy my 2005 crossfire for 12,500...i laughed, thought about calling him to yell at him...and decided i would just go up there in a week and have a chat.

...also, i bought my first xf from there, base coupe. if they were offering 12,500 on a base coupe after 4 years and no indication of mileage...then that may be different.

...but not for the SRT.

I believe that it is also the "over 60" group that are looking. These are folks that do not know how to "search" on a computer or searched out a "crossfire" web site looking for "private sales" rather than being a directive going to a Used car dealer. I think we will see more of I am almost retired...ready to enjoy life to the fullest" before getting thrown into the "home" to spend my time looking at "old Black and white TV shows." One last fling...in a Crossfire Coupe or roadster.

Wouldn't an SRT "fling" be like finding a 20 yr old nymph? It's gonna be a fun ride but probably never taken to it's limits..

I take everything to the limit....but, I don't think a 20 yr old is going to look at this old sour puss of mine....lol The cars are fun...but I have been in faster ones, and a few bikes that just are flat fast. My old Kaw 900 Eliminator with it's 0-60 in 2.2 secounds way back in the 80's was hard to beat. There are a few production cars out there that are getting there, but my wallet won't let me in...I just love the accerlation...Our little cars are just smooth getting there, unlike the power shifting jerking of the old muscle cars...thinking at anytime something is going to break....lol... I have near $50K in the 2 of them, and I couldn't buy one of the new fast productions cars out there today for that price...which makes even more fun....

I'll assume your discussing my post as i just posted that i was looking to buy one, I wrecked mine and have been in mourning for several weeks, If i can find a replacement in less then 30 days my insurance will pay the taxes., I've have harley's and a ducati as well. But simply put the crossfire is my favorite car that i"ve owned. Mine had extremely low miles and babied, just made a deal to look at one tomorrow with 1200 miles on it. I have to fly to KS. I assure I'm not trying to stir ****. I joined this forum to find a few leads. I may be new the forum but I bought my srt6 new. buy the way i was contacted by a dealer asking me to sell my crossfire a few wks ago as well. If all goes well this weekend I can post a pic of my new crossfire that should look exactly like my old one.

Lol.Wait until you get old. Old men have purty much seen it all. Old men have little lose. Maybe a little time but not even much of that. I live in the twisties of southern Ohio and EVERY young guy that I've taken for a ride has cried "that's Enuff".

Reason to not marry a woman much younger than yourself........brother-in-law approaching 65 (eligibility for medicare).....wife 4 years younger....current health insurance for both from where he still works (i.e., subsidized by employer).....if he quits job & takes medicare .....she would have no health insurance.....he would have to go try to buy her a policy (expensive) on his own till she too reached medicare age. So, he feels he has to work till she hits 65......

Careful ... You might make a few friends on this board if you keep that attitude..

That was definitely a nice roadster SRT ! Good thing he didn't wait 4 more months to post or I'd have never shared the link..

Hehe… well, I guess I had my regular girl in 2 different Miatai and tried my nympho "fling" in a Corvette. It was a bunch of 100 mph dashs, in the hills of LA, between corners until I found my/the limit going around a 20 mph corner at 50mph.
So I figured I'd slow down a little and enjoy my coming retirement

My insurance company also appreciated my decision ;(
