This topic, with links to the Top Gear episode where Clarkson likens the Crossfire styling to a "dog making a poo" crop up every year. And every year I chime in to remind everyone that a year or so later Top Gear took a Crossfire Roadster, Audi TT Roadster and Nissan 350Z Roadster to Iceland for a comparison test.
Clarkson picked the Crossfire as his favorite.
It should also be noted that Top Gear is first and foremost an entertainment program, and a damn good one. The individual presenter's opinions on cars are just that: opinions. I will never buy a car, or not buy a car, based on any TV personalities recommendation one way or the other.

I gotta admit I'm trying to get a small vinyl graphic of a dog taking a poo made to put in the 3/4 window - a sort of "yes yes yes, I've heard it and I'm bored with it. Try and be original" <grin>

I love this program. One of the best car shows on tv IMO. I watched a re-run program the other day and they trash talked a Vette that at the end of the day laid down a great track time but it was an American car so I did not expect anything else, It was still funny and entertaining. I still laugh at the reruns of the show they did in India. So they made a couple of wise cracks on the Crossfire,,,SO who did not smile a little and said ok I see it.
Who really cares what this Brit thinks? The "expert" Clarkson's taste in style was so good that he was considered for the all-time worst dressed award on the tv show "What Not to Wear" . So we should listen to him?? I'm sure he thought of this dog comment while he was sitting on the loo straining to produce something. Between grunts he pictured himself, but thought it would be funnier if it was a dog. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I'm sure there are a lot of people who think the Pontiac Aztec looks great. Great for them. I won't go around saying they are wrong, but he gets paid for the cute, vulgar comments. I love almost everything about the XF. That is all that is important.

Personally I love seeing our dog in THAT position. Because it means he's doing exactly what he was taken outside to do, and I don't have to stand outside in our freezing Ohio winters any longer than I have to.
Sometimes when I look at my Crossfire. I have to laugh because I see what Clarkson was talking about.
You know what they say....Crap Happens.
It's still one of the most beautiful cars I've owned, and hands down, receives the most positive comments from total strangers.

I just find it funny that he doesn't like the dog taking a poo look of the Crossfire but he does like the look of the greyhound effin' a football look of the 911 Porsche.
