This post is just a fyi for people. I have heard a lot of people talk about turbos and superchargers like they are the same thing. They're not. I have read here and on other sites about people wanting to add one of these modifications to their cars and I could tell they really didn't understand the difference. Since one of the mdls of the XF is a supercharged(blown) car, I thought I would post this to help people understand the difference. Also, we will all be buying new cars in the future that will be equipped with one of the two. Anyway, I hope this helps anyone who would like to know the difference .Knowledge is power, right? I'm not sure what threads/posts you are referring to but I've seen casual auto enthusiasts confuse the two for decades. Technically though, both are mechanical compressors that force additional air into the engine under positive pressure, which may be why some confuse the two.
