Default How to remove blower/fan control from center dash/console?

I've been searching for the steps to remove the trim around the blower control, and how to remove it, do you have to remove the lower console to get the upper console out? Can't find anything with search or Google, trim doesn't want to pop off and I don't want to break it.

First, you must remove the radio, then 2 small screws at the top of radio opening. Then you can pry out the trim, be careful, though, use plastic trim tools.

If you follow some of the steps in this .pdf you can expose the control and then see what keeps it in place.
