Default Good exhaust for the Crossfire?

I'm looking to put a new exhaust system/muffler on my crossfire, but I don't know which one to get. I don't want something that's really loud where people will know I'm coming from a mile away, but I want something louder than the stock exhaust. I'd really like to find something that sounds sorta like a v8 Corvette. Any ideas?

Borla or the (nearly)identical to the obx exhaust you can get on eBay for $300. I bought a magnaflow and it's loud but I like it. I bought it from a guy that is now running the obx. He said if the stock exhaust was a 1 and the magnaflow was a 10 then the obx would be a 4 or 5. For $300 versus $800 for a borla it'd definitely be worth trying. If you don't like it return it. I personally love my magnaflow.

I'd like to know what exhaust can give you a nice deep gargle sound like amg Mercedes has..just something deep and mean sounding but not obnoxiously loud

There are only a couple kits to buy. Use the search for specifics like that.

stock is the best remove the rear cat, and the resonator,, you will be happy, all i say all aftermarket exhaust for the crossfire has a 70 to 80 mph drone in them. good luck.

Exactly! That's right in line with what I'm looking for, but I've never been able to find anything that would make the Crossfire sound like that without being too loud for my taste.

We will never get a V8 sound from our V6s, sadly. I bought mine used several years ago, and think mine is stock, and even it has a drone at 70-80 mph. I wouldn't mind a little more sound from mine. I really just want to hear it at idle.

As shattered.. wrote, it sounds like you desire the deep gurgle you have heard from V8's ... the 6 is not going to do that, but it can have a distinctive snarl.

Choose wisely! My ex-wife used to have a nice deep gurgle. After a few years it developed into a very "Distinctive Snarl".

I stuffed so much insulation in there, that deep V-8 gurgle sounded more like a Screaming V-12...vrooooom!...vrooooom!

It sounds really good. I have heard several Flowmaster and Magnaflow mufflers on Crossfires. The Magnaflows seem to have a smoother deeper sound than the Flowmasters.

If youve ever heard the stock exhaust sound from a Mk4 or mk5 .:R32 you would understand the sound I'm looking for ..the .:R is a v6 with a lovely gargle
Imo It's the best sounding v6 stock exhaust note
To bad there isn't some exhaust set up like for the xf :/

After a decade of posting on various forums, this is the best ever response, and probably with remain so.

That should have been added as an amendment to the Constitution.
