Tire Pressure Light
Had my car in for service; new tires new brakes and new rotors and ever since they completed all the work my tire pressure light will not go off. It was not this way before all the maintenance was done. I am starting to think they could have possibly damaged one of the sensors. I am going to take it in today and see if I can have them reset it. I also made sure the tires were filled with the appropriate pressures in this case they were so I'll see what they can do. If they dammaged it they are paying for it I have all maintenance receipts.
I've had my light come on twice in about the last 3 months.. "time to look into sensors".. then right around a week later it has gone out.. go figure.. Being an 04 model, and sensors are designed for a 10 year life span, it's not surprising it's about time to replace.
Yeah, just annoying to see that light on. But it did go off a few times but its mostly on all the time now so I dont know.
The same thing happened to me a while back. Friday I took my car back to the shop that installed the tires and asked them to see if the sensors were good. They tested them, and all 4 were sending out a signal. Next they connected a programmer to the OBD port. Then they carried the programmer to each wheel, starting at the front driver's side (clockwise) and programmed each sensor. Next they reconnected the device to the OBD port and the light went out. The light has been out now for 4 happy days.
I guess they didn't program it correctly the first time they tried, or didn't bother.

Just disconnect them. Better to check tire pressure everyday if you going racing.
Take a real close look at all four of your valve stems. My shop once tore off the sensor package that is inside the wheel when they were popping the bead and unmounting the tire. They owned up to it and replaced the sensor, about $120. If the guy that did your tires ruined a TPMS unit in the wheel, maybe they pulled a fast one on you and put in a regular valve stem to hide the expensive mistake. Take a look to see if one of the valve stems is different from the others. That may be a clue.
I bought my xf with the light on , don't mind it because the steering wheel blocks it from my view Lol , on top of that i drove my gti with a cel on for 2 years so I'm used to seeing a light..if it bothers you that much listen to the other posters either pull the power from it and just manually check tire pressure , or read johnnyE's post his sounds like somethin that might have happened to You(go in to your shop and complain)
I had my light stay on when I broke a stem and it was replaced. Dealer reprogrammed and it was fine. Didn't have a problem whenever the tires were changed.

My tire guy said the rims have to go on the same location they came off when I did my tires. I told that I believed that was the case. No problem, but I borrowed a set of rears and they did not set off the light either, so go figure.

Of course Sparkies left tire went onto my left side so maybe that was the reason for no light.
However I did see more smoke from his tires than I ever saw from my tires. LOL
