Default difficult gear change 2nd to 3rd

Would changing the gearbox oil on a 6 speed manual help with the above problem , this only happens when i'm accelerating hard up through the box.

These tranny's can be tempermental when it comes to shifting at certain RPM's. From what I hear, switching over to syntheric does make shifting smoother, but it sounds like your situation is rev related.

5W-20 is the correct oil, and yes, it's motor oil. Most of us have had good results with Amsoil or Royal Purple.

I'll be doing Royal Purple 5W-20 and new flex discs this weekend.

Personally, I have used Mobile1 5w20 in both my 6 speeds and it has been a nice improvement...

I know Mobile1 is on the approved list, not sure about amsoil or RP...

Eh, all the same stuff when it really comes down to it. And who put more money into the Mercedes pocket, lol.
