Default Anybody drive a Jaaaag?

Hey guys , After owning my 05 limited for one summer here in Alberta I am thinking of selling her for something a little different for next year. A 2007 Jag XKR. Anybody ever drive one? I'm looking into as much information as I can. Its a little more then the Crossfire. at $41 grand for a slightly used one.

I'm just trying to do a couple small touch ups on the Crossfire right now. I was thinking about changing the window mouldings but haven't found anything yet. Or just taking them down to an auto body shop and have repainted ( pressure washer blew off a small patch of clear coat after entering where a small chip was in the paint)

Overall I really like the car but at 6'2 its starting to get a little cramped for longer trips.

I just got back from a trip in B.C after having the car impounded for a week due to some ******* road crew not posting construction signs where they were working and I got hit with an excessive speeding ticket at 102 km (60mph) and stuck in some small hick town for a week. Jerk RCMP left me stuck on the side of the road with my dog an my bags. (Bah! another rant on that later)

Cheers.

I worked for Jaguar in the 80's. They were garbage back then. 2007 will be better but I'ld plan on uber-high maintenance costs to keep it on the road.

I have owned two, a 1984 Vanden Plas & 1999 Vanden Plas. I absolutely LOVED both cars. The ride, the hidden power, the gas mileage (Jag V8 was better than Chrysler V6). I did have issues. Worst Climate control I have seen in any car. Sunroofs would go off track if I sneezed to hard or hit a major bump, and a cooling system that would drive my crazy (99) when it was just a tad low on coolant it would set off all sorts of bells and whistles.
I find that getting in and out of my Crossfire is easier for myself and my elderly mother. She actually fell getting out of the '99 once and landed flat on her rear against the car. My Crossfire holds more luggage in the boot...LOL. Before you buy one find a local Mechanic with a good reputation and have them check the car and if you can get an extended warranty thrown in on the deal..

Jags as we know suffered for many decades from British wiring woes. While they were amazing rides, their were issues. That all changed when Ford took over. Quality control went up and I believe your 2007 was the last year of Ford ownership before Ford sold Jaguar to Tata (China I think). I know for a fact that in recent years, Jag won the top prize from J.D. Powers, for reliability and consumer satisfaction. The Jags of today are not the Jags of yesteryear!

Ford took over Jaguar in late 89. So, 1990 to 2007 should be better Jag's.

I have been a Crossfire owner for approx 5 years now AND also have a 1999 Jaguar XJ8 Vanden Plas.
I ALSO have a NEW Camaro SS in 2011 which I used as my daily driver until I bought the Jag some 6-9 Months ago, and since then my Camaro has just sat in the garage, as I now use the Jag as a daily driver. One of the Very BESY cars I have ever driven, for comfort, Power and Looks. I would not EVER discourage anyone from buying a Jaguar, I love them. GO FOR IT, you WILL love it, Damn the expense. They are very high tech with respect to the number of electrical (Computers) fitted. but in my 6-9 months of ownership have had NO problems, and would recommend them to anyone.
