Default Anyone really want a V8 coupe?

I am maybe thinking of selling my car. See Market place for details. I love the car but those who know me know that I like to build. I have a new project in mind that I am excited about but can't afford it unless I sell the car.

Lantana your car is beautiful, and 100% unique. I would imagine there are many here who would love to have it.
It's definitly a very good alternative to an SRT. Did you ever take it to the drags?
Do you have a "Ball Park" price in mind?
I would think it would do well on EBAY if for no other reason than being so unique. But this time of year may bring prices down.
It would be nice if somebody here on the forum got it.
Any hints on your next project, or is that classified?
I'd love to have ya build me a copy of your old Cobra, but I'd have to sell a couple of my houses to pay you for it.
Good Luck

Ooops....just found the other thread. Lotus....nice.

too bade you don't live in NY or CA. You would only have to sell one house to get the Cobra. that Cobra was extreamly detailed with the little things replica builders don't worry about. I could build you the same car which is very difficult to tell from the original for $49K

Anyone who can afford an SRT should be able to afford my V8 Crossfire.

Wow, a replica of a 1/2 million dollar car, that most people would think is real simply because it's the 289 style for less than 50K. If I had not used all the money I got from the saleof my Viper to pay bills, that would be very tempting.
I use to really, really like the 427 Cobras. But I flat out loved the 289 version (probably because it came first). If they had never came out with the GTS, I probably would have wound up with a Cobra Daytona coupe kit car. Because I never knew they made the 289 style.
I asked you this once before, and I can't remember exactly what you said. Was the body on your old Cobra glass, or aluminium?

It had an original style frame but the body was glass. I measured and original car and duplicated all the wire wrapped edges. you had to feel inside the wheel well to tell it was glass. I took it to the Shelby nationals where Carroll Shelby signed it. They tried to park me with the originals until I let on that it was a replica. They guy running the show said it was the first time in 20 years he was fooled. Everyone assumed it was real partly bebause you never see replicas of the 289 slab side. It even had original wheels with the "AC" two blade spinners. I built it as a museum quality reproduction. Every tiny detail was correct. I built it they way you would do a restoration.

Obviously you are giving it away at $16K... If only you were at the fall dragon showing this master piece off... You could have talked Evil Evelyn into it.

This price is only good for a short time as I am stealing the Lotus and passing the savings on. If I lose the car I am looking at the price will be jumping a lot as I probably will have to pay much more for a differnt Lotus.

I am reducing the price to $14,000 only as long as the car I am after is still available. As long as I can steal that car, you have the opportunity to steal mine.

It has been mildly modified to be in the 330-340 range. Stock was 306 but even then it had more torque than an SRT. Also keep in mind that torque is what gets you moving and this engine has a very broad and flat torque curve compared to the SRT engine. Peak hp is needed for top end performance AMG cams, AMG intake, tune and a few other goodies really woke up the top end performance.

nice sound indeed but the SC whine is irreplaceable.
Lantana seem to be a good forum member, hence a good car owner. If anyone want a clean V8 go for this one!

good luck with the lotus bud!

Does this car have a wavetrac? With more torque down low (than an SRT6) I don't know how you can drive it??? Extra weight on the front and more TORQUE? Sounds like a good way to get hurt. What side of Dalas is Lantanna. I would like to see this beast.

289 did not come first. The 260 with 260 horses (one of the earliest hp per ci cars) came first with an Edelbrock F4b manifold, try-y cast headers, I believe a minor cam, and a 4bbl.

Good luck Doc. Would love to see you own it. This is my baby and I want it to go where it will be taken care of. The car doesn't have a wave track but for some reason unknown to me it act like it does. Always lays down two even stripes like it has a posi.

The car handles better now than when stock. Stock had a lot of under steer. The suspension tires and brakes all work great together and the car goes wherever i point it. The torque and brakes allow you to really plant wither end of the car.
