Default VIN Build number question

I had my dealer look at getting me the new radio since mine has the dim lighting issues. Its on order but while she was getting my info she noted my VIN number and how the number was all zeros but 1. Does the very first start out with 0000001 or is the one somewhere other than the very right most digit. Mine has zeros and then a 1000. Does that make mine the 1000 one built? thanks, Mike

Mike:

The build number is the last 6 digits of the VIN.

Mine is 002476, meaning it was the 2476th vehicle off the line. We have seen numbers on the forum in the low 300's, and in the high 20,000's.

If you are getting #1000, it is a pretty early build date. Look on the driver's side door. There is an info plate that has the actual month and year of production. Mine is June, 2003.

Make sure any necessary TSB's have been done as required for the vehicle, and then enjoy it!!!!

:-)

Jim
