OEM luggage rack cover
I was cleaning out the attic and found a OEM luggage area cover still in the box. It is gray. I bought it in 2004 or so. Any idea this thing is worth or if it has any value? I can't remember what I paid for it.
Thanks.
Thanks.
About $300 shipped, looks like they are available again and that appears to be the going rate.
That's it 180.
Sorry I wasted the forums time. I should have read down the list before I posted. I see that there was some for sale on Ebay or Amazon. Still can't remember what I payed for it but around $300 or so sounded reasonable. Kinda like the Xfires -- no increase in value yet.
During my cleanup today I also found an orginial TR6 softtop with the reflextion tape I bought it around 1978 or so when I was restoring a 1973 TR6 for my son. I think I'll keep that for use on my 1975 TR6. Mine does not have a OEM top. I also found carbs, lights, etc. That top will make a good winter project after I finish polishing and restoring a stainless luggage rack for the TR6 from circa 1972. Still looks great after all those years. Wonder what the Xfires will be like in 50 years like some of my older cars? Going through the attic was really a good exercise -- mentally and physically.
At some point I must have contemplated converting either my coupe or roadster Crossfire to a SRT front spoiler because I also found that in the back of the attic.

You didn't waste the forums time..
You now have an idea what the cover is worth..
Didn't run across any 91 Miata parts while you were up there did ya? LOL.

I miss my TR6s and the Crossfires are an old man's attempt to return to the past. I bought a brand new 74 TR6 (burgundy) with a factory hardtop and ran it for six years and 96k miles until it rusted out. Around it's second year I met my wife-to-be and we eventually bought her a 72 TR6, British racing green with wire wheels and the chrome luggage rack you mention. Nice memories.
Funny how cars relate back to our past. I bet we could save these two posts and in 40 years two old guys will say the same thing about their Xfires. I really think that cars come and good out of favor because guys die and the next two or three generations relive their youthful memories collecting cars from their youth.
However very few cars seem to rise to that position that transcends time and generations.
