Default hAS ANYONE HAD ANY TIRE PRESSURE INDICATOR ISSUES?

My CROSSFIRE'S TIRE PRESSURE INDICATOR COMES ON MOST OF THE TIME COLD OR HOT. THE PRESSURE IS CORRECT BY CHECKING IT WITH A VERY GOOD DIGITAL GUAGE. HAS ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE? I have checked it cold and hot and it has always been right on.

Didn't you say in another thread that you work for a Chrysler Dealer? Are they not able to check it out and fix it for you?? :roll:

Yes I do work for a Chrysler dealer. Only I hate to let any of the "goons" here touch my beloved machine. I will have it checked here at work if I absoultely have to but only as a last measure. I trust almost no one when it comes to my Crossfire.
I worked 44 years in this business to obtain a vehicle as wonderful as this so I am very **** when it comes to who fixes or touches it.

I can't blame you. My experience has taught me better than to let " ACE" get near my car in his greasy clothes and hands. Not to mention since it's not his what's to stop him from" having fun" with it on a test drive whether it needs one or not? Oh no my friend, I know better.

We do have a factory trained Crossfire tech here but he is always very greasy and dirty and has poor personal habits so thus I fear his touching my baby

Ed,

My tire pressure indicators have worked properly when I had a flat tire and also when I performed a test by gradually releasing air from a tire.

I also live in MD. Just curious as to which dealership you work for ?

You work for a DC dealer and are afraid to let your own people work on your car??? Then what are the rest of us who only buy cars and have no ties to a dealership supposed to do??? Your not painting a very pretty picture here.

I worked on jet aircraft for 24 yearsc I hope the flight crews that flew on my aircraft didn't think like that about myself, ACE and the other mechanics as it seems your doing to your guys. Ifm sure the owner of your dealership would not appreciate your comments either.

If by chance ACE and his gang are really as bad as you say, you must really work for a third rate dealership. Do our forum members in Maryland a favor and identify your crappy dealership, so they know to stay awayc :roll:

Did they ever work, or have you had to have the tires/wheels changed at some point?

If so, then the sensors need to be reset by a tech using the computer console that plugs into your Crossfire connector under the dash on the driver's side. It only takes about 5 minutes to reset the sensors to the on board computer.

It is kind of sad when the delaership employees won't have their car looked at by the techs at that dealership!!!! If he is dirty/greasy/smelly, complain to the service manager!!! Or is he just overworked??

fIRST OF ALL LET ME CLEAR THE " AIR " HERE.
It's not that the techs here are not really good at what they do, it's just that at any repair facility, techs don't always take the extra care to be sure that your car is as clean as when you brought it in. It matters not if you work there or not. Secondly, let me say that our Crossfire tech is highly trained and profecient at what he does, it's just his nature to be dirty when he is working and I am so **** as to the condition of my Crossfire. Third, we have all brought this subject up to the service manager and it is an ongoing problem at any dealership. It is almost unavoidable and as I stated, it's just my being so **** that makes me concerened. We have first class CSI scores every month. I was just looking for some advice on my car without having to bring it in to find the answer. Isn't that what this fourm is for?

Sure that is what this forum is for. And we are glad to try to help. But you called the techs "goons" and said they would go for a joyride in your car. That is enough to take the thread off topic......

And I just have to ask:

Your profile says you are a Music Producer / Audio Engineer. How does that fit into an auto dealership??? Or do you have multiple jobs?

As for the tech's not taking care with your car, well, that's a problem Chrysler as a whole has to overcome. You don't see the sort of crap you describe at high end dealerships, if Chrysler wants a high end image they better clean up the act at your (and others like it) delaership!

There is NO EXCUSE for what you describe. They can easily have clean coveralls to put on before they get in a customer vehicle, they can have gloves (or hell, wash hands, what a novel concept), etc. I just had my first "Service A" yesterday, and other than a bird dropping (birds LOVE white cars), the car was as spotless as when I took it in.

For reducing temptation to "joy ride", do like I did, take the car in with the low fuel light already lit. And make sure they now you noted the mileage. They put about 5 miles on mine testing for wind noise.

I think all car people are ****,EVEN me. But if you don't trust them tell them up front like **** BURNS said or stay with your car on a saturday.Case close.

Yes I am a music producer as well as my job with Chrysler. I work 18 hours a day/ 6 days a week. I own a recording studio as well.
Most techs are flat rate pay wise so changing clothes between each car they work on would not be practical. They do wear gloves(latex) but when your on piece work taking time to change gloves between each car doesn't always happen. None of the dealerships listed are the one I work at. Now I'm not sure it's such a good idea to list the name of my dealership in fear of retribution brought down on me for being honest about some of the things that happen at dealerships, especially mine.
As I said, most of my concerns are because I am so **** about My car. David, none of the dealerships you listed are actually close to mine just for informatuion sake goes. I only have 1600 miles on my crossfire and it hasn't been in to our dealership yet for anything. Just my fear of anyone not handling my car properly is the only issue I have. That would go for anyplace I would take it

jsisabella, thank you for your info. That answers my question. As for my comments, if we all saw what happens in the kitchen of every resturant, would we still eat there? Some of what I have said is subjects that are not seen for the most part by consumers. I was just being honest about the whole industry in general. I used a few bad words to describe the techs and for that poor judgement I apologize. It seems to have started a huge ball off the mountain and this was poor judgement on my part. Please do not fear going to your own dealer because of my comments. I'm sure you will be treated very well since you the customer are there lifes blood.

Our crossfire had the same issue. Tire pressure sensor would come on and go off with no noticable patern.

Took 2 trips to dealership (techs said they did not have the right codes to read the sensors the first time and had to get them from Chrystler).

On the 2nd trip they were able to re-calibrate the tire pressure sensors. No more problems. Only took about 30 minutes (probably only took the tech 5 minutes).

jdmlt, thanks. I will have this done on Monday morning. I want to thank you for a straight foward answer to my original concern. If I can ever help you with any parts issues let me know. I will do that for any other of my Crossfire brethren here on the forum but remember that shipping costs may possibly affect how much you save against the retail price from a dealer. In some cases you may not save much because of this issue.

My XF had pressure issues the first week, but a quick adjustment by the dealer and everything was back to normal. The tires were a little low last week due to a drastic change in the weather and the sensors caught it. They were down around 27 psi before the light came on.
