Got a new windshield, whew!
I got a chip that turned into a 2 foot crack. Bummer.
I finally got over the fact that I had to get someone other than myself to work on the Crossfire. Boy was that stressfull! I had no idea if the installer would be competent or not. It turned out they sent one of their best guys who was VERY careful of everything. Removing the three trim peices was really stressing me out. It turns out they are made of a flexable plastic and with the right tool, they come off fairly easy. The panel underneath the windshield has to come off as well. The only problem he had is that there is a rubber peice that is attached to the bottom of the glass that attaches the glass to the lower panel (see pic-the panel is on the hood), and mine ripped a bit. Didn't make too much of a problem since it was a small rip. Got the new glass in, and everything went back together in a breeze.
The entire job took a full 2 hours, about twice as long as most others, according to the installer.
Advice: If you need a new windshield, make sure that they order you a new rubber piece that supports the bottom of the glass to the lower panel before they show up with just the glass. There is a chance that yours wont rip like mine, but if it does, then they will have to reinstall the ripped rubber piece.
If any of you in Arizona need your windshield replaced, PM me and I will send you the Glass Company and installers name.
