Here we go.
Can not find the key anymore last night when going to the Opera in Houston!!!!!!

Have to ride the Buell but as of today I still can not find it.

There are a few for sale on ebay.

NOW question for you guys!

What is the best way to get in???? ;-) without damaging anything of course!

Thank You All,

Max

Tennis ball with a hole in it will pop the lock.. not sure if alarm will sound.. youtube has a video you can do a search and find.. but simple put.. drill a (app. 1/4) hole in the ball.. place hole at key slot and "punch" the ball with the palm of your hand..

Keys on ebay are useless other than swapping your internals for a pretty outter case.. You have an rfid chip that has to match to the car.

Try it. Doesn't work. It's a hoax.

Same is true of someone holding your key up to their cell phone and hitting your keyfob... also a hoax.

Well you can pop the hood.. but the alarm has a built in battery to wail at you.. I can get you in.. but beyond that.. "hopefully" it thinks the key opened it. I'm thinking Needswings can possibly get you a key.. have to supply vin.. I do know they (Mercedes) get particular about making them.. Thanks "gone in 60 seconds".. (where the laser cut keys were mail ordered..lol)

Okay then "old school".. duct tape on the end of a clothes hanger to avoid scratches and go for the lock switch on the dash..

Note.. somebody's antenna that is stiffer would be a better option.. unscrew.. use.. screw back. call "no foul" if they show up..

Hmm.. tennis ball fail/disclaimer comment..

It only works on old vacuum operated central locking. mk3 golf ect. not electronic solenoid
locks. I used to borrow the odd car in my youth. wink wink

^^^ I do believe this is our category ...

You do a video then.
For this to work it has to get the air from the tennis ball into a closed pneumatic system that fails to operate a lock when the tubing is broken.
Hmm?

When the snow melts by all means disprove it..

If you buy from this place, the key you receive is ready to go (it's programmed and starts the car). I know because I purchased one from them last month. They send it to a Chrysler dealer in PA that programs it for your car. Note what they require to prove that you own the car. I sent everything via email. I think that it took two weeks to get the new key. I highly recommend them.

You have to turn the ignition on and I believe they only allow a "one time" initialization at the fob end of things. Otherwise I'd be in a SRT6 by now..

When I received the new key fob, I opened the door with the fob (already programmed), inserted the key in the ignition and started the engine. There was no programming involved at all.

Service above and beyond then.. several users have picked up a new key at dealers and they want about 60 bucks to program the fob to the car.. and several have simply initiated the program sequence and smiled as they drove off..

Mr. Miata was correct. They included instructions for programming the lock/unlock function. I was mistaken. Nevertheless, I recommend them enthusiastically even though I don't gain financially from the endorsement.
