Weird noise coming from engine while not running!
Weird noise coming from engine while not running!
I just brought back my XFire after a winter long in storage. It started today to make some kind of weird screaming that might be related to an electronic part or from the alarm system and does it when park in the garage with no key in the ignition. Locked or no locked it doesn't matter.
I removed both battery pole to clean them, nothing changed. The car start no problem.
Does some one experiemented this before?
Tks

I am referring to the cricket on crack sound that the siren can make sometimes. Read the post above the one I refer to, that is the post I was referring to really. You need a new siren probably.

Re: Weird noise coming from engine while not running!
Tks for the link but I don't see a topic talking about my issue?
I changed the FOB key battery and charged my car battery. Seems to resolve the problem. But now I have no sound when I click on the Panic Button, only lights are flashing! Normal?

Hold the panic button down for 4 sec, see if that is the noise if not MM is right on...i just took mine out of storage and the alarm siren was acting up even with a new battery...just installed a new MB siren so far all is good...but I will give it a few days before I say its fixed....
Re: Weird noise coming from engine while not running!
Ok... I hold my Panic button for more than 10 sec and still only the light is flashing. I am going away for a 10 days business trip so I will find out upon my return if the noise keep going. Otherwise it seems that I will need a new siren!
Re: Weird noise coming from engine while not running!
Funny story to tell! When away the car started to do the same noise in the middle of the night in the garage, like a dying pig and my wife was so scarred!!!! So I still have the same problem. But since the panic button is not working (only the light are flashing), I do beleive that my problem comes from the alarm module. This should be replace. Tks for confirming if this would resolve this problem.
As you can guess, the Chrysler dealer would have zero clue about it!!! Only 4 Crossfire were sold in the greater Quebec city area. If there is a tread about it, please share the link.

I found the Siren location from a PDF found in the forum : https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...locator-1-.pdf
I will try with this to see if it is the screaming pig!

Nice wheels on the Crossfire, by the way. Brand/size? Also, nice rear wing on that cabrio lol
I had some alarm issues myself that switching out the siren itself did not resolve. I assume it was related to the module in the trunk, but it seems to have "magically" fixed itself... knock on wood
