Does anyone know the difference between the H&R and the Eibach lowering springs?

i believe the eibachs are just slightly lower then the h&r's but if you get thinner spring pads you may be able to get alittle lower depends what kind of stance you want...

Bought the Eibachs from Amazon. And the Eibach 5mm front spacers. Picked up the CTD rear diffuser. The full chrome package from Sherwood. Just trying to figure out how I can get the NAV radio to play music from my Android tablet via 3.5mm. The Rudy adapter requires a group buy. Not going to wait months for that.

also, where can I find the red tint for the rear lights that turns everything red? And the white turn signal bulbs so they don't look yellow when not using them but they are normal yellow when you turn on your turn signals.

Would also like a clear cover for my headlights, since I had to refinish mine three times in the 8 years I had my car.

thanks

For the turn signal, I got the "European Bulbs" 7507 from 1157 1156 superlumination.com leds (Automotive Replacement Light Bulbs, Headlights, Foglights & Lamps)

about to order another one because my front passenger side is out

I went with the hyper flashing LED look myself . Now they get twice the warning I'm turning.. LOL. And figure if I'm ever stuck roadside.. I can hazard warn everyone for days and still have juice enough to crank her over..

Guys, I've seen continuous claims of getting 250hp out of a Crossfire easily. I have my Borla exhuast on order and have my Renntech airbox. Is it the tune that produces these results? And if so, where do I get the tune done? I'd like to have this one tuned optimally.

thanks

250 crank is easy, considering you start with 215.

Since you're using the Renntech airbox, you'll have more volume capacity in the intake, BUT you will still have the bottleneck of the OEM throttle body and MAF. In addition, you will be well-served to remove the baffles in the upper neck of the inlet pipe.

***Simply buying a Needswings single intake takes care of the MAF/screen issue, PLUS gives you the increased CFM volume you're looking for. Because you're sticking with the Renntech setup, you'll want to do the other supporting mods for maximum volume.

A tune is critical. Easily added 20 HP to my Limited, and it quickened up the throttle response.

Do not mess with injectors. Not only is the mod overkill, but 90% of the people that tried them simply couldn't get the car to run properly in the lower RPM loads...

Removing the rear cats will free up some back-pressure, and with the addition of the Borla you'll have a great sounding setup (although don't be shocked to only gain ~5hp from the exhaust).

The intake and tune alone should be worth ~35hp at the crank, so that's your goal of 250 right there.

74mm throttle body should net you a few extra ponies, maybe 5... but the "under the curve" power should feel nice and the power will be more immediate.

So if you did COMPLETE intake plumbing, Tune, 74mm TB, de-cat, and exhaust... you're sniffing 260. Nothing to be ashamed of when you're going to be driving one of the cleanest Alabaster coupes out there.

From there, it's pretty dismal from a $/hp perspective unless you want to do a small huff of nitrous... But unless you're racing, I'd avoid.

Glad the interest is renewed. I see the spoilers, badges, wheels, etc, but what about the most important part of a startech XF - the engine? Maybe a V8 swap?

I agree with Jon above, but would also recommend a sprint booster (adjustable) for maximum fun.

I could sell the porsche and do a v8 with the money, but I'm very attached to that car.

No problem I'll find one.

Where do I buy the throttle body and is there anything that has to be prepped in order to fit this. tuning?

How about the tuning, which is best and how do I get it done? There really isn't anywhere in CT to take these cars.

Cats can't be taken out as the pollution ****'s would confiscate my car.

thanks

I have to ask... have you read the forums in the last four years? LOL...

No disrespect, but the mods for a Limited Crossfire have been hammered to death, ad-nauseum.

Eurocharged is still king of the hill regarding flash tunes. No, you don't have to even leave your driveway. You can pay more for a dyno and get a couple of extra horses, but why?

As for the 74mm TB, there's a thread floating around here with about twenty-eleven pages of info pertaining to the swap... it's not as easy as changing your air filters, but by no means would I consider it an "advanced" mod.

Some people have experienced idling issues, others have not.

But ultimately, this has all been covered... a LOT... and I'm not trying to be lazy but there's no sense in us just repeating ourselves.

All that being said, call carguts at 1-866-839-2708 and ask them if they have a
Merc TB part # A113 025 0141 ( it's stamped on the plastic cover )
That's the 74mm one, they are asking $85 and list a bunch of them.

do a search on A113 and you see all those posts JHM2K mentioned.

Well ok thanks. Never understood the "Its been talked about before". I mean its a forum that as the years go on will get quieter and quieter as these cars disappear. We should just be willing to talk about stuff as many times as we want, I mean, what else are we going to talk about? LOL

No offense, just get that from every forum I visit. Searching sucks. hehe

Gotta find a reliable shop to install the throttle body. I'm going to assume the tune requires me to just send something in?

Nope an Nope.. TB is a cakewalk.. 1 1/2 hours taking my ever loving time.. could be done in 30 minutes start to stop if one was determined ..
Now Eurocharge has a pc program.. read your ecu.. send them the file.. they send the modified back via email.. you hook up and flash..

And I will throw in.. these mods along with a 3" dual Hot Air Intake.. have really put an extra kick in the performance..

Dang it! 5003 posts! Forgot to "bookmark " 5000 with..

I wasn't tying to be rude or unhelpful... far from it. In fact, by finding the other threads, you get to see all the trial & error first hand... not my cliff notes. Lord knows I'd make an omission.

Some of the best advice in threads comes from learning what NOT to do. My advice is doled out with bullet points... wrenching (reality) is seldom so kind.

All the best,
