Stuck into place...
Well I thought the title would be fitting since my girlfriend, Molly, and I have been recently engaged. I asked her Saturday and everything went according to plan (she said yes
).
I also was able to go yesterday and do the most nerve wracking thing I possibly could, cut holes into my CF hood
. Myself and a buddy that I trust with my life took on the job of installing some quick release hood pins to solve the problem of my hood shaking and wobbling at high speed. I did not want something that was ricer or extremely high profile, so these fit the bill. A big thanks to Brian T for pointing me in the right direction (I wish you warned me about the welded nuts on the radiator support, though LOL).
Mission accomplished.

Thanks gentlemen, both things could not have worked out much better than they did
She either wants a C63 or a CTS-V so I could not have gone wrong, girl has taste, except me, of course

Congrats John and Molly we wish you the best of life. Molly is a special girl for sure. looking forward to seeing you both in Oct..
Nice choice on the pins. They actually add a bit to the look instead of the old style ones with the tall post and clips. They fit right in with the style of your Crossfire. Well done.

Congratulations John,,,,, and Molly. John because of the great girl, Molly because he'll give you anything you want, so the two of you should be happy ever after. Congratulations again guys. jim
thanks for taking the plunge (on the pins), seeing them on there has convinced me to get a pair as well. Any pics of the install, where they contact the body, etc?
and congrats on the future wifey... does she have a sister?

Thanks everyone for the kind words, both about my future wife, and the car
She said she was ready for some cocktails and hanging out at Woodward and the Dragon this year
Unless you have a significantly lighter CF hood, you would not need them. Do you have an aftermarket hood?
Depending on how the cross wind is sometimes I would see shaking at 50, other times at 100+
Sister, yes, she is a an attorney too
with a husband and kid LOL
I will try to get a few uploaded this week, but with getting the car ready for woodward, it may not get done. If I forget, PM me because it is not very straightforward because of how the nut is welded to the radiator support.
LOL you may have, but on mine, I could not drill and tap them, it did not get the pins high enough. When removing the welded nuts, we tried to twist them off, nothing, added some heat, still nothing. We removed the front clip and took an air hammer to them, nothing. Finally we ground them off, drilled out the hole and added a cinch style nut with the correct threads - works like a charm and still fully adjustable. Thanks again for the tip on the pins, sir!

Hmm, how about some single potential bridesmaids? I'm up for a Wedding Crashers-esque weekend.
Thanks for the help with the pins, no rush as it won't happen until the winter if it does. I'm guessing its something that I'll need a body shop to install, I don't think I have steady hands. Pretty nerve-racking, I'm sure..
Another little mod for your Crossfire.....looks good
Congratulations on the engagement !!!!
I knew the day would come eventually
See ya both in a few days at the WDC
