Was in my books.. put a little more "giggle factor" back in them when you've gotten used to acceleration..and it's not like it's and extensive mod. to complete.

Unless you have supporting mods to your intake system, I say no.

No mods at the moment, just k&N filters. I plan to fit cold intake system with K&N filters.

Then wait until you get the CAI, install both and get a EuroCharged tune for max benefit.

Or take the bird in hand and put under the hood and enjoy the little extra benefit as I did with only K&N filters in the OEM box.
It's not rocket science or hard.. you plan on doing it anyways.. would just be 1 down and couple more to go.. unless you just want to get your hands dirty one time only..

Extra ponies is a butt dyno call.. and I just prefer to say you can tell the difference.. I acutally did laugh a little at the extra gittyup from a take off. It "seemed" like it lingered at app. 1500 rpm when coasting down a few times.. but being an automatic it's not a real issue or hardly noticeable.

I did buy the larger dia. maf housing and pull the screens and cut the baffles in the elbow out. That would just be "optional" for you going to a needswings intake. Guess how far out vrs that little extra squeeze would be your options to weigh for the extra 25 bucks and time.

Won't hurt a thing and will still give you a little more umph.. it won't slam you in the seat with added performance, but you will be able to tell she's got a little more. I would at least pull the screen - grid in the maf housing and do the elbow baffle mod removal..

Just a word of advice to both of you.. Spend the $15 bucks for the new "0" ring..and use a few dabs of silicone sealant to hold it in place at assembly.

Also do a throttle reset once you are done. (unless you have the battery unhooked long enough while doing the swap)

I am confused Don't worry, it happens all the time...

Our stock air intake system has been proven again and again through actual dyno, not butt dyno, to be the biggest bottleneck in the power making process on an NA. So if the stock system can not even get the motor enough air what makes you think that you need to increase the size of the TB? in my opinion, and from my personal experiences, you are in for issues with a TB that is not designed for your motor, intake or tune. Change the intake and tune and it becomes a bolt on but I am still not convinced that it adds but a few HP.

Just my $0.02

I agree with you on all points here. But chicken or egg.. or none till you take a day and do it all..
I've read 8 HP on the TB upgrade.. I'd guess it a 5-8 increase..
And granted the stock system falls short of being able to supply all the air the engine can ingest .. at full throttle.. but that doesn't mean a larger TB wont gulp in that available air a little faster.

And as far as a tune.. it's been noted several times that the computer has enough variance to compensate these mods. A tune is not even necessary.

Mine was done in stages.. K&N stock box
Throttle body
Replaced K&N stock box with 3" tubes to cone filters
And finally tossed in the tune.
With 2-3-4 months between each phase.

No adverse performance or issues anywhere along the path taken here. And each one was just a baby step to performance to the whole package per say.

Thanks for the advice! Is there a specific website or place I can find this "O" ring? if so that would help a lot!

MB or Chrysler dealership. I found one in stock at my local MB dealership, they overnight/2day pretty much everything so if they don't have it you can get it quick. Plenty of threads with the part number in the technical section of the board.

As far as performance goes its going to suck more air in regardless of if you upgrade the intake or not but if you don't it will be very marginal. After doing both my readings from the ultra guage show a nice increase in the amount of air that is coming through. There does seem to be a slight performance hit in the low, low revs but that may be in my head. It definitely pulls harder up top though.

Alright, one last question... What's the benefit of an airbox upgrade? Or is an airbox not stock in an engine? Ive never heard of it before this forum, but Im trying to learn everything I can not that Im about to add some upgrades of my own! haha. I just basically want to know what an airbox is from fellow crossfire owners and what it will do performance wise!

Yea I learn too, Im going to fit 74 throttle plus cold intake which will build myself, could you let me know what is the outer diameter aftermarket intake? Also I think it's good to wrap exhaust pipes as they are extremely hot and heat up the intake. After all modes do I need to remap ecu? As ecu has been designed for standard throttle body. Not sure Im not engine's engineer but if I replace the throttle body all sensors will measure air for small throttle body and I will have bigger so it will be around 17% more air so I can have problems with mixture???

Confused!
