Someone posted that if you jack the car up from the right side and let it sit a bit, all the fluid will drain from the connector and you will only lose an ounce or 2, not enough for concern.

You must use jack stands as well.
Another local died this week when his truck collapsed on him, when they found him they had no idea how long he had lain there trapped.

I'm sure there is no shortage of information out there about replacing the pilot bushing(connector) on the conductor plate (electro-hydraulic control unit). But, please remember the 7mm bolt that holds the connector in has a torque spec of (I believe) 2 Nm. It is imperative that you don't over-torque it. Snug is more than enough. Anything more than snug and you'll pull the brass insert out of the conductor plate ($400) and 2-3 hours of labor. I speak from experience and I am a Mercedes Benz technician. This would also be a good time to perform a transmission service if you haven't already had one done.

Oh and one more question, I think i read somewhere that if I overfill the transmission it will get rid of the excess oil by itself, is that right?

So they say but why overfill? It will be messy. Use the Woody method to determine fill level and do it right.

The Woody method?
Why I asked is because i dont know exactly how much oil has leaked and i don't have the tool to check the level

With the money you will save by doing the job yourself, I would recommend buying a dipstick for the trans so you know exactly how much you have/need to add. I recently did this same service on our E320 and as suggested above, replaced the connector, replaced the tranny seal, tranny filter, and fluid. It was under $100 said and done and now the tranny service is out of the way.

I bought my dipstick on ebay for ~$25 shipped, a small price to pay to ensure the $3,000 tranny is good to go. I tried Woody's method and I was much more comfortable with a purpose built tool then a zip tie...

I'll buy a distick too when i buy the connector then, you happen to know what its called? Also, from where did you buy the oil? They didnt have that specific oil where i looked here in Sweden.

Thanks alot for the answer, gave me alot more than onehundred80's answer!

Below is a link to a dip stick, not sure if they wil ship to Sweden.

I bought my fluids at the local auto parts store, you would have to do some investigating as to where you can find it there, worst case scenerio, maybe the dealers sells it? (you will pay too much this way, but if it is your only option...)

Don't mind 180, he is extremely helpful, but also expects people to search for info instead of blindly asking questions that have been answered hundreds of times already on these same forums. I was feeling nice today

Awesome, thank you

Just 2 more quick questions then, are these the correct items?

The oil:
Aut Trans Red Line C+ ATF för 223 kr - Köp Automatlådsolja på nätet - Mekonomen.se -

and the connector:
New Mopar Nag 1 Transmission Plug 68021352AA | eBay

I get it, then i'm sorry 180, and thanks for answering!

I have no idea if the Red Line meets the OEM spec. I used Mobile1 that they specify as meeting OEM spec.

That connector looks correct, but if I were you, I would search the forum for that part number and make sure.

All your questiions can be answered with a simple search, so this will be the last response from me on this topic
