Question Anyone used the luggage?

We are going to the Mayan Riviera in a couple days and I was thinking of using the Crossfire luggage, but I'm afraid that the commercial airlines will be too hard on it. I want to use the wheeled luggage because it is the perfect size, but I'm afraid I'm going to cry if I get it back with the emblems knocked off or something.
Has anyone traveled on an airline and checked the luggage yet? If you have, would you advise someone to do it or not?

In my experience luggage always get wrecked when travelling through Airports.
My advice would be to buy a travel tote and put the suitcase in it before you check it in. This will at the very least stop it from getting marked & scuffed. Have a great trip!

Now there's something I never thought of, thanks.
I plan to veg-out and lay in the sun for a whole week! Winter is just around the corner, so we are going to try to soak up some sun, before it gets here! Your summer must be just around the corner, then! Lucky you!
(your mopar girl is very distracting, haha!)

I thought my mopar girl was more mesmerizing & hypnotizing than distracting ... but she had to go!!!!

Something like this is what I'm thinking of (i'm sure there will be a size to match):

We packed all three pieces for a trip to Clearwater Beach in Florida, and they proved to be very functional. No airlines though, made the trip in a Dodge Durango, left the Crossfire safely covered in the garage.

Thumbs up Re: Anyone used the luggage?

Shortly after receiving our luggage, we went to Cuba on a planned week vacation and used all pieces of the luggage.. The large wheelie suitcase was checked with airline baggage. No problem.
The luggage was also transported twice on large shuttle bus from airport to resort location.
One thing I noticed was that the luggage had the most stylish wheels of all other luggage around us.

I would not have any concerns about taking it on your vacation. Heck that's what it's for!

MI, have a great get-away. I guess the ole Forum will be dead for awhile during that time.

Shortly after receiving the luggage my wife used it for a trip to Atlanta. (She liked the look better than her old luggage). Luggage returned with no problems and she checked it through both ways. You could take it as carry on-it will fit in the overhead compartments on large jets-small planes will check at the plane and you can get it when you deplane. Good luck!

My wife and I have used the luggage 9 or 10 times on checked baggage flights and it has held up extremely well. So far no scuffing has occured but I'm sure it will eventualy happen. Use it and ENJOY!!!

I haven't received my luggage yet but either it is super strong, or you're not travelling on the same airlines that I am (or airports) because I didn't think there was a piece of luggage made that they couldn't destroy.

Yea, I chickened out and am using some old luggage. Mostely because I was packing and found out that I needed more room so I'm using a huge suitcase on wheels so I could bring the usual "more than I need".

LeeBea,

I'm sure it will get that worn look as I travel more but it really is built well. I figure that traveling in and out of Newark Liberty Airport is a pretty good test as to it's durability. I must admit that I purchased a "second" full set from another fourm member a few months ago just in case and because I do know of the rough life a piece of luggage lives from the many sets I've purchsed over the years. The great thing is I traveled 6,000 miles with no brake dust on the luggage wheels!!!

Hey, that's a plus, no brake dust on the luggage wheels. I wish I could say that about my Xfire.

Tak

No problem. Last week TSA had conversation with me - They ask "do you have the vehicle to go with this". Even the luggage gets attention. But I believe you use things and enjoy so put the petal to the metal and enjoy. Use your luggage!

I travel all the time with at least $200k of movie camera equipment and use the roller bag as my carry-on. The other cases I check have BIG YELLOW STICKERS that say "SENSITIVE ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT". They still get banged-up, scratched-up and broken. But what the heck, it's only the luggage and not my Crossfire

It's the "Sensitive Electronic Equipment" sticker that gets you in trouble. I think they go looking for that kind of luggage to throw around the most.

HMM!!! Maybe you have a point Maybe I should just pull all the Panavision stickers off the cases and put "WARNING CONTAMINATED BIOLOGICAL MATERIAL" and leave the fingers of a rubber surgical glove hanging out the side

Call your dealer, you should have received with the purchase of the car, unless they stopped that promotion, or they kept the luggage themselves...
