Default Air conditioning/engine fan on for no reason

The title says it all, my air conditioning is on blowing low and I have it set to off and the engine fan is on as well, also on low whenever I drive. What could be the problem? No problem codes are triggered

Would a bad FCM trigger a code? I don't want to order the blower motor resistor just yet as that seems like it's just an AC problem. My engine fan is also stuck on low besides the AC being stuck on low as well, not sure if the two are correlated. My "Low Coolant" indicator light is on as well but that is because I think I broke the sensor attached to the bottom of the coolant reservoir when I yanked it out to change the headlights, there is plenty of coolant in the reservoir.

You say the AC is on do you mean the actual compressor under the hood? Or do you mean the fan which has the **** on the dash?
If it is the AC compressor maybe it is the button with the snow flake symbol on it.
If the AC compressor is actually on then the fan behind the radiator should be on as well.

The fan behind the radiator is on as well as the air conditioning WITHOUT the snow flake button on. Its blowing cold air as if the AC is set to low but everything regarding the AC is turned off.

Is the compressor turning? I guess it has to be but ....
If it is I guess the snowflake button is bad or the wires are shorting out somewhere.

Yea pretty sure it is, the AC and heat both work fine when I turn the *****. If its an electrical problem with just the AC/Heat, what I don't understand is why is the engine fan on?

Hate to say it, but my money's on a bad A/C Heater Control Module ( the silver panel with all the ***** and buttons for climate )
( it talks to the BCM and tells it to run the engine fan when you press the snowflake )

Here's one for a SLK32 ( it will work ) for only $89 with free shipping : ( it's not silver, but I have seen pictures here where some members have installed it )
97 98 99 00 01 02 Mercedes SLK230 Temperature Climate Heater A C Control Unit | eBay

NOTE: There are hundreds of the silver Crossfire ones available on car-part.com, some as low as $40.
Search for "Heater/AC Control"

Is your switch on defrost? If so, compressor will run.

Cobra, I've switched the switch to multiple positions and it still blows air whether its on defrost or not. I'd hate to replace that whole panel, I'm putting the car up for sale soon (I'm moving out of state) and this most definitely won't help me sell it
