Default 3rd Brake Light Removal

Somewhere on this forum it is written that the 3rd brake light on is held on by five screws. I just removed mine (ROADSTER) and there are SIX screws. There is a screw on the right-center side (looking rear forward) that is hidden behind a piece of support metal. After you remove all the screws you will have to carefully pry the third light up as there are some plastic pieces and the plug remaining. These must come straight out.

Hi BsB, this is BisB calling; do you have any direction as to how to remove the plastic housing surrounding the 3rd brake light under the trunk lid of a coupe?? Any directions (or video) would be most appreciated! Thanks.

Did you ever get it apart up there?

Yes, I found instructions in the Crossfire manual and managed to remove the trunk panels without breaking anything! It's like peeling layers of an onion, one layer at a time. Ask me about changing cloth seats to leather, on second thought, don't ask. Extremely difficult project, way over my head. I like the brake light but folks continue to tailgate and give no respect to small vehicles, so it appears. Quite a different driving experience in a CF. Not sure if the flashing brake light will convince other drivers to back off. Maybe some percentage will back off, maybe. Thanks for your inquiry
