Cool The Crossfire whistles when I put in Drive.

Is this a cold weather issue?
The Crossfire makes a whistling sound when I put the
Auto-Stick into "Drive" and accelerate 0-25+ mph.
The sound disappears after 20-30 minutes.

Please advise,
Paul V

The only thing that I can see is if it is a whining or singing sound when cold it would probably be the intermediate bearing on the drive shaft.
however:
The halfshafts, differential and pinion bearings can all produce the noise. Try driving under load and if the noise appears it is probably the rear pinion bearing. If it whines during coasting, it is more than likely the front pinion bearing. Good luck!
PS: let us know what happens.

It could be the fans. Whenever I start it up in the morning, I hear a high pitched whine, which I think are fans, maybe part of the radiator system? Anyway, I think it's normal.

It's not the fans since he only hears it when the car is put into drive. Fans either go on with the car, or some cars don't even turn the fans on until the engine is heated up and needs some cooling.

Guys.... I had the same problem and they replaced a belt / motor in the engine bay, no idea what it was but it was replaced under warranty.. now no more noise on cold startups.

That would be great if you get off with just a belt, we'll cross our fingers for that one.
