New 2004 unregistered cars are available for circa £23k. I was offered a 3 + 23 PCH at £279pm plus VAT last week but decided to buy a 13 month old car from a dealer. 6.8k miles, ex Chrysler management car with renewed new car warranty and 3 rd year warranty at £18,200. Plus they gave me a very fair price on trading in the Z3.

Dan,

A 1996 XJ12 with 77k miles is being sold on autotrader (www.autotrader.co.uk) for £2,000 ($4,000).
Autotrader is a good place to find out about the prices of UK cars.

Dan,

About time you yankees realise that a zip code in a different country is important (sorry couldn't resist after trying so many time to buy something where a US ZipCode was required). DC won't send me a brochure coz I don't ave a zip code. iPOD needed a ZIP.

Try RG24 8YL. This is my post(zip) code, so don't abuse it. Alterntively use TW18 4LG, which is the the zip code for one of our offices and the local Police Station.

FYI. Our format for most zip codes is AANn NAA. There are many exceptions.

Give us a valid ZIP code so we can join in too.......

Dan,

Still a Jag though. You need a D-Type or an E-Type to make an investment.

Is your's LHD or RHD?

Our fuel is between $6 to $8 per gallon so you need to have some money to buy an old Jag. The XK series is worth having, but the new JagMondeo (X/S series with cheap Ford parts) are seriously overpriced for a smooth Mondeo (imo).

Mine is LHD.

I like the older XJ 80s',they're about the same price here $2500-8500 depending on condition.

My car is the 1 of last of XJ12s made only 196 cars in 1996.

I don't care for the Xtype or Stype.

I'm looking for a XK8 coupe.

Dan,

If you have the money then the XKR is better.

I think you have a better choice of muscle cars in the US than the tired format of a Jag.

Spend some more time driving your XF. I had £86k ($172k) available after the sale of my Flat in London; the XF took the biscuit; and I love it still.

6 to 8 bux a gallon? OMG When i read that i threw up and went unconscious. I would be driving a 2 thousand dolllar crx hx, if i was over there, that way i could afford the gas. No wonder why you guys are so into diesels. I thought it was around 3-4 dollars. Wow thats crazy. Are homes expensive out there too? Like say a 2000 sq. foot home 3 Bedroom, 2 full bath, good shape. How much would something like that go for?

Also having a hard time finding what year(s) did they make the Focus RS, been thinking about making one over here, but wondered if it may be cheaper to maybe buy one.

Thanks

Probably between £160,000 and £250,000 depending on location. Salaries are not bad against some of the US income levels. Average professional guy would earn between £30,000 and £60,000 per year.
Things are usually relative but we do get overcharged on cars - particularly when the Crossfire is made in Innusbruck and shipped over to the States at half the ticket price we get in the UK!
