Default Hatch Rattle

I have read several posts on this subject, namely the annoying rattle coming from the rear hatch. I finally took the time to have this corrected. The noise comes from the inside of the hatch in the area around the brakelight in the upper portion of the back window. The dealership put in several strips of adhesive backed foam stripping about one inch thickand 2 or 3 inches long bewteen the inside molding and the surface below it. The problem is gone. This is an extremely simple remedy and no adjustment to any body part or fixture is necessary; a total no-brainer once you know the source of the problem.

Had the same rattle when the wing went up or on a dirt road. My dealer fixed it. I assume that the fix you are talking about is not something visible when you lift the latch. Right?

Correct Bob; the only evidence was the maddening noise; thankfully, it's finally gone.

There are two rubber bumpers on the liftgate. The correct fix is to adjust (lower) the bumpers. A star wrench is required. It took me 5 minutes to eliminate the rattle on my xfire.
