Default Help...$900 for a tiny clip???

So the clip that fastens the lowbeam headlight bulb went MIA. I called the dealer and apparently they don't sale the piece by itself. They want me to buy a whole new headlight which is $900 +.... Yea right!!! Does anyone know if the mercedes slk uses the same clip? Or if anyone has one for sale 👍

I would carefully pull the remaining one off and then go visit some autoparts and hardware stores.

This is a very specialized part. I doubt you would have any luck finding it in any retail store.

The wire the clip is made of is about the same thickness a large 2" paperclip is made of. However, the headlight clip wire is a stiffer spring type. I did find I could bend and form the paperclip in the shape of the headlight clip very easily. It might be a stop gap solution for you to try.

I would think any mercedes around the same time period that used h7 bulbs would be held in with that retainer spring...

My wife's 2004 Hyundai Sonata has the same clip because it uses the H7 bulb as well.

That spring is not the exact same shape and it's difficult to tell the lengths to compare. If it were easy enough to get it might be worth a try.

Very good find. None of those universal clips in the picture match the crossfire clip exactly, but a couple appear to be very close and could likely work or be made to work with some slight bending.

ehh.....ditch the high beams and use that clip. Just rig the highbeam bulb to stay in, I never use mine anyway.

Is that $5 extra to Canada?
Like the accessory belt logos.

Just joking, how do people lose these things anyway?
