Shift knob
Hey guys,
I picked up a Crossfire today (the Coupe Limited) for test-drive purposes and was surpised by the shift ****. Has anyone taken it off? Can it be that on a $55,000 (CDN) car there is a hollow plastic ****??!?! Or are my senses fooling me?
Also, I have looked around and can't find it. Is there a second cup holder?
Thanks.

both ***** are plastic regardless of stick or auto. it may appear to be aluminum but it is not.
i replaced my auto shift **** with an 04' m/b black leather shift ****....much improved.

If I owned this car, getting a new **** would probably be the first thing I did. That's weird that Chrysler would be so cheap about it.
To the poster who asked about how to remove the ****, I THINK a good technique to getting ***** off (assuming they aren't screw ins/outs) is put the car in second gear, put both hands on it, bend your knees and push off the dead pedal. The thing should pop off if it's the type of **** I'm thinking of.

To remove the ****:
1) lift the shift boot to expose the retainer nut.
2) Rotate the retainer nut clockwise and down to remove the shift handle.
3) Pull straight up on the handle.
Vwalla!!
