Question First Service & D11 Recall

Last Wednesday, my XF had the 10,000 mile service at Weybridge Automobiles, with the mileage at 12,607. The service indicator was a cool minus 300.

The car was collected from my office in the morning and returned in the afternoon gleaming after a thorough clean inside and out.

The cost of the service was £334.79 including VAT (£284.93 ex-VAT) made up as follows:
  • Carry Out 10,000 miles service - £113.99
  • Filter Engine O - £5.98
  • Sump Washer - £0.71
  • Mobil Oil OW40 (9 quarts) - £134.55 (ouch £14.95 per quart!!!!!)
  • Screenwash - £4.75
  • Cleaner 500ml - £5.95
  • Universal Grease - £1.99
  • Consumables/Fuel - £17.01
They also carried out a d11 Recall under Warranty. Does anyone know what this is?

Apart from the price tag being higher than some I have noticed on the forum (with Shell Oil instead of Mobil), this is the second time I have used Weybridge (once for the PT), and they do seem to know what they are doing and their customer service is excellent.

And they did not detect the Upsolute chip.

The oil is very expansive I think. D11 recall: change a pipe of the engine cooling system.

What all does the 10,000mile service entail? I assume this is the B service (2 wrench). Is it something I could do on my own and save the $400-500?

Man... I did NOT know having a cool fun car would cost this much AFTER I bought it

but hey I guess thats the price i gott pay for a great ride.

Default D11 Recall Answer!

All crossfire produced prior to February 16, 2004 fall into the D11 Recall.

At service they inspect length on cooling hose. Hose is inspected for length and damagae from cooling fan. It is simply a hose replacement if needed.
