I think that is just the way the Crossfire is. I dont think that there is anything wrong with it. My other car didnt do that but it was a totally diff type of car (Acura CL). The Acura would coast as well when you let off the gas. The Crossfire took me a little while to get used to it doing that as well. It just seems like it is kind of dragging.

 

It just depends on what you like. I find cars that don't slow when you let off the accel annoying. If I didn't want to slow then I wouldn't let off the gas. I don't like to use the brakes every time I want to slow down a little.

I'm assuming you're driving a automatic tranny. It's called throttle response... But we would have to have more information about what you're experiencing... If it feels like the brakes are on when you release the gas pedal, then It could be a couple of things, including the fact that the car you're driving is pretty light and should slow quickly when you remove the gas...

If you're used to driving an SUV or some heavy POC car then that's your answer. The other thing is that you could be in some other gear aside from your primary drive gear...

But then again, we have no specifics on what you're experiencing.

 

My auto rolls pretty good when I'm not giving it gas unless I'm in 3or4 gear. It does have a compression slowing from the engine like I think most Benzs drive that way.

 

Most of the newer non-performance cars have a free wheeling torque convertor. This saves gas. Not good for spirited driving though. Could get you in trouble on a road course.

 

The same thing happens to mine when I let off the accellerator. If I´m going up hill at all to a stop light, I can let off the gas and stop at the light without even using the brake. It´s almost like an engine brake on a diesel semi. Actually, I kind of like it.

 

i have a friend that just bought a E500 AMG and his does the exact same thing, so im assuming its just like dan said being a benz they are all gonna be like that.
