From what I've read, no alarm chirp and no valet switch.

I hate those chirps. And horns I was glad car would not chirp. When I got my truck I had dealer shut horn when locking off too. The lights are good enough. Doesn't it bother you all the horns and chirps you hear in parking lots.

Once again Steffen comes through... although given the number of incompetent (US) Crossfire technicians that have been mentioned here you'd probably have better luck getting this done in Germany!

Here is the translation:

main menue
|
--EDW (is the control unit for the alarm system)
...|
...--variant coding
.......|
.......--country setting: rest of the world
.......--alarm siren instead of alarm horn
...........|
...........--Netherlands setting
...........--volume
...............|
...............--2% (how powerfull the chirp should be)
...............--4%
...............--6%

All that have to do your technican with the computer tool on the interface connection of you car.

That work on all MB SLK R170 too. If you think your DC technician is to stupid for that then drive to Mercedes Benz and they can do that in 5 minutes with that plan. The technical parts are the same as in the SLK and in the SLK work that perfect!

Wow you are great!!! It drives me crazy not to hear any kind of noise to confirm that the car is secure. I'm calling my DC shop in the morn! Thanks again Steffen!!

I called the only Chrysler dealerships here in town, since there is only one per dealer I couldn't get a hold of anyone. So I called the only MB dealership in town and asked them. They said that they dont know anything about Xfires. I then read him the quote above and asked if that sounds like how to do it, he said "he does not know". Wasnt very helpfull. I think it is true what was said in another thread, hard to get anyone at Chrysler and MB just doesnt want to be bothered with us. I think that Xfires are MB unwanted step children! I should have told them at MB, crossfires cost less and have more style anyways!!

They already know that. That's why the MB guys hate us.

I went to a dealership and asked one of the sales manager about this. He was not sure. I tried to call three four dealerships in town and attempted to talk to a Crossfire tec. Since there is only one at each dealership, they were either busy or not available. I wrote DC and this is the response I got. I guess if no one from DC knows about there cars I guess we should be the ones who do! I guess I give up and will just live with the lights flashing only.
