Factory tested cars..
When I picked up my car it had sticker on the driver's side window indicating the car had been pulled off the assembly and quality checked and driven less then 65 miles, and then returned to the assembly point. I am just curious if anyone else had a car delivered with this sticker. My reason for asking...do these cars have more or less problems then cars not quality checked.
I had a 97 Mustang Cobra that had a similar notice in the car when it was delivered, and I had absolutley no problems with it, even the black paint was flawless.

I never had a vehicle that was factory road tested, but my 99 Jeep Wrangler was labled for quality inspections on the line, and that vehicle has over 100k miles on it. Only regular maintance, no other issues at all.

Yea, sure. Seems to me that I read or heard something about that being in the German factory assembly procedure manual.
Hey everybody, the reality of that sticker is,that upper management has perks that go along with the job.One of the perks is that they get what is called overnighters.they drive the car home after work and put it through its paces and make sure that quality is there. If they find something that is not up to snuff it is written down and then sent to repair for correction.so the long and the short of this is ...if you buy one with that sticker on the window, there is a good chance you will not be back to the dealer for those little annoyances.I work for these guys and I think it has a lot of merit.I would love to see us all get that perk but I don't think they will go for it.The one good thing is that the build is slow on the xfire so they can take there time......Have a good day

You mean it's not a luncheon thing; how disappointing.

Sounds like a plan!
I have never heared that before. It is not a German instruction to do that. All cars are checked before they leave the factory and the then the miles go back to 0 with the computer and then car goes out of the factory.
Well we did that at one time to,however there was a lot of cars back years ago that had the speedo ajusted or taken out and replaced which led to alot of controversy.I doubt rather highly that that is the case in Osnabruck. Not only is it illegal but also unethical.I will bet my xfire against yours that you are wrong.
I have the same issue. My "new" SRT-6 had the same sticker on the drivers side. The odometer read 49 miles upon delivery. The question becomes, if the overnighter is true, did someone beat my car up during the break in period? I mean, who in their right mind would not take an SRT on a high revving joyride? Any thoughts?
Well, the overnighter is for sure the truth, and we also have what is called the B.S.R. track, which stands for buzz, squeak, and rattle. All the cars are driven over this track to make sure that that is not happening.I can't speak for everyone, however I know that most of the upper management is not in there 20's so you can rest assured that it was not pushed to the limit, just a simple check for the build quality and to make sure that there is no B.S.R. I have not met anyone on this planet that is always in there right mind, starting with me.......LOL....LOL.....LOL
