Default Sound out of the cargo area

Hi,
I have a problem. If I start my car then I hear for any seconds a sound like the rear wing go out from the cargo area and after any seconds (5 second) it is quite. If I look behind me I can see that the wing doesn't move. The sound is only if I start the car. Do you know that sound and is it normal?
regards
Steffen

I think that is the noise the suspension makes when it's adjusting for your weight in the car.
When My husband gets in the car after me, it does that. It's self adjusting. I wouldn't wory about it. I know a few things, just not the technical terms, so if I'm off a little, I'm sure someone will say something.

Is it a fairly quiet humming noise? When you insert your key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position the fuel pump will run for a few seconds to pressurize the fuel system. This is normal for modern fuel injected vehicles.

Ahhh. That makes sense too. Didn't know that! Thanks.
I'll have to go try that. Just with the key in the on position, huh?

yes. turn the radio volume off too. it still makes the same noise even if you quickly turn the key from off to start, but of course the engine cranking and running will drown out the sound from the pump. so generally you'll only notice the fuel pump sound for the brief moments where you turn the key to on.

No it is an other noise. Now I have found out what it is. It seam that the vacuum system had a leak. The noise starts if the car will lock the doors if I begin to drive. I have stopped and lock the door with the switch on the center console and the noise came on. I hear on the lock on the rear hatch and I hear that the vacuum system had a leak on the lock you can hear it. Tomorrow I will drive to the deal to fix it. Thanks for the help.

I have just begun hearing the same sound you described. Was the dealer able to fix it? What is the vacuum for?

The door, rear hatch and fuel door locks are operated by vacuum.
